Lipo sacks are for pansy's...:whip: Theirs nothing to be worried about when charging a lipo unless your a complete idiotic moron who cant read a manual on how to charge a lipo, then you've got some issues... But seriously, lipo sacks serve no purpose if you know what your doing. Plus Ive heard of cases were lipo sacks have failed on larger packs.

I have $80 of lipo sacks, $1200 of Neuenergey 30c lipos an some really shady ones ive bought off ebay. I have never had a lipo puff, spark or fart while charing with the 061iduo, If you have a bag of sand or charge them in in an ammo can or or home made bomb lipo shelter, I agree you shouldn't be messing with these in the 1st place LOL

I don't think it matters what you use to charge lipos in as long as the following guidlines are met:
> Container should absorb a flame up, not contain it. There should be breathing holes to vent the pressure. > Container is non-conductive. If the wires happen to touch a metal object at the same time, it could CAUSE a problem. This may be true if there are holes drilled and the wire insulation chafes. > Container should be able to dissipate enough heat, or insulate the heat, in a flame up to not catch fire to whatever it is sitting on. |
Brian always so rational..lets hear the good stuff... If you toss them in snow it will cause so much hydrogen (well if you lean over it and intentionally inhale lol) you will die
I read this whole site before playing with lipos as I though I would die, from rumors, we are all safe as doves in a roof top cage http://www.batteryuniversity.com/ ... id also hit up some airplane sites those old dudes been flying for 20 years before the had the name lipo know whats up neil and shaun can laugh about this but they both made me think id catch on fire....great mates |
I would have checked here 1st but I didnt know about this site till later. If I had I would have had my questions answered by the masters, But i searched the net as a lonely wolf until Neil coughed up the mecca of bf brushless, elecrtic gods ( nice enough? shounded like a dick in the last post as though i had to search everywhere but here) ( when here is where I get the answers)

I both store and charge my lipos in a sack.
I have 2 of those Racers Edge sacks from Impakt RC. I don't see a reason not to use them. It's not a hassle or anything. How else do you transport all your packs around? When I go out I usually have 6 or 8 packs. I've never had a problem charging any of my packs. (although I have farted) The only fires I've ever had were esc's. I use them at the track just out of respect for others and for safety. |

As for transportation, the same "guidelines" apply. Stuffing all your lipos in one or two sacks (or one ammo box) works, but if one happens to flame up, there go the other ones too. But, having multiple sacks gets a bit expensive for what you get. |
