I hope you have dual esc's going to those 970's.
They pull huge power. The first pull of the trigger on mine resulted in a loud snap, and all 4 tamiya connectors were toast!

I never really understood how to wire up dual ESCs..
A EVX-1 w/ a fan should run it just fine.
Just cool it down every 8 minutes of straight bashing ^.^

Totally depends on your setup for wiring. 2/4 batteries, 1 lipo? The evx is not rated to handle dual 970's. As for the fan, talk to BrianG:lol:

rawfuls 01.08.2009 11:39 PM

That's what I thought.
Though, the EVX DOES handle it. It's surprising.
I need to check out these other 4 EVX's I have somewhere in my parts drawer... See if they work as well...

Oooh BrianGeeeeeeeeeeee :D Just kidding ;)

Laughing, laughing, laughing.

Hold on I am still laughing. Sorry Harold. I was just trying to imagine your expression when that happened. I imagine you sitting there in your chair cussing up a storm watching the magic smoke escaping from your ESC. You kill me. Anyway I am going to try and run this on just one Super Duty XR Novak ESC. If it burns up so be it. I am going to try and hook the motors up in series as they suggest and go for it. LIke I stated I will take it easy and check temps every few minutes to see how it handles the massive power struggle, but it will be fun just playing with it. My boys are pretty excited to see it run. I already have one of my projects running with the 4.5 HV Maxx. I am working out the bugs on the truck this weekend and loctiting everything, but it is running pretty fast already. I am only using my old nicklemetal battery packs for now. I have some 7 and 8 cell packs to play with in pairs. I will post up a thread when I have some info to report on.

The super duty is better than the evx and rawfuls runs one ^^^^^^

on the evx they are wired in parallel. You'll get half rpm running them in series, it'll be a turd. If you don't care about toasting it I'd wire them in parallel.
