I really respect custom build trucks way to go dude!!
Keep on doing your custom work then you always got the bomb;) |
Wow! That looks amazing! That thing must be incredibly lightweight for it's size, bet it'll handle well too! Awesome work. :D
i havent driven it yet so i dont know how its going to do, it might be a complete pile and fall apart on me i dont know. one thing i do know is i dont think its going to handle real great cause i dont have enuff caster on the front wheels :W:

for my next tires im thinking savage tires on some maxamizer beadlock wheels. but i have 1 concern, does any body know the holding power if those wheels? i dont wont the tires blowing off from the power of a 9xl on 22.2 volts o' lipo :p
They've got good low speed holding power, rock crawlers love them, they stay put even when bound up in holes and junk. No idea what they could do with that kind of power, but crawling puts some pretty good stress on stuff even if you don't realize it.

im not positive on the savage tires. i like the looks of them and the size of them, 6x3 is right were i wont the tires to be. i wish i could try them on and see if they look right but my hobbie shop kinda sucks , they just wont you to buy somthing and get out, which is gay cause ive spent so much money over there its not even funny. i think i might have to make 2 models of the tires out of cardboard or sumfin and stick them on the truck to see if the size is right
if im not mistaken the tires ballon REALLY BAD. it is the tires serum had on his savage with a big maxximum and the tires look bigger than the swamp kongs. ill try and find the picture.

Dont use the savage tires! They are SUCKS! Too heavy, really bad ballooning and poor handling makes them useless! I drove them with the 7xl/9920 combo on 12 cells en the speed was much slower than with bowties and 23mm wabash wheels! Also the handling is very poor.

A set of dirt hawgs are 6.25 x 3.5 in. I think they handle pretty decent and get decent traction. If you going to be off roading and want so good traction. Mike has a set of rd logics on the rims for 30 bucks a pair. They are 6x3 like you want and grip something awesome. For the money they are real hard to beat.
ya the dirt hogs are to wide. i dont wont any thing over about 3" wide. the rdlogics are 5.5x3.5 on there site :C: plus i dont wont the wheels, i hate having to waste a good tire to change my setup, thats why im going with the maxxmizers :). i know hotbodies makes a 6x3" tire but it doesent say if it comes with foams, plus i dont know how soft or hard they are, and if the size is accurate:M: .
did you consider a crimefighter or bowtie? there great for almost any terrain and grip better on the road than my road rages.
Does weight effect the crawling ability of the truck? Cause now that my truck is all aluminum and im using big joes it weighs 12 1/2 pounds with batteries and everything and now it crawls better. I tried it on these big rocks out side my house, and it went over them easily, where it would normally slip it grips and crawls over them. I think the extra weight allows me to get more traction.
well im not a racer im just a basher so traction is 3rd to wear and looks :). i know i wont the road rages cause they dont wear as fast as a bowtie or somthing else like that on the road. plus i like being able to slide the truck on pavement its fun. so traction dosent concern me as much on that.
hum i like the crimefighter it might look sweet on my truck i like the width and the hight i think im gunna go with that :D
