I just got my Raze Buggy running this week and it has a 36-60-2000 Medusa in it that I will be testing a few differnt esc's, batteries, and gearing with. I'm going to keep the gearing for ~40mph maybe 45mph (maybe a few speed runs if the motor stays happy) and check temps all around. I don't yet have an eagle tree setup, but will soon.
Right now I've ran the buggy on 5S and 6S lipo with temps no higher than 110f on 6S after a 10-12min run of mostly WFO (for those that don't know that mean full throtle  ). ESC's I'll be running it with are the typical MM/ bec on 4S, MMM on 4S -6S, and a hobby wing 80a on 4S. -Brian |
Anyone here using 80mm 2200kv with 6S?
Im thinking about stepping up from 4S to 6S, to get even more raw power. |
I know the 70mm may be more ideal than the 60mm for a Revo but how much of a difference? I'm looking at 1600kv on 5s. I'm setting this up more for racing now but will bash with it as well. Tekno Neu is awesome but I think to much for the track. Last week I threw on my new bowties and hit up a very soft baseball field and all it wanted to do is wheelie! I'm gonna put my neu in a Maxx and want something with a bit less torque but that will still run cool. As I said this is kinda geared towards racing and I will never gear it for more than 40. Is the 60 enough or just get the 70?

Ok I'm no noon here. I know the 70 and 80 will do it without a problem, for me it's a matter of I think a 70 might almost be to much for the track! My neu I think will be too much as it will wheelie pretty much whenever I want. I don't want that for racing.

How would a 1300kV 60mm Medusa perform compared to a 70mm one in a Mugen MBX5 on 6S?
|
Tekno RC/Impakt RC ran one of those 1300 KV 60mm motors in a Truggy and it ran pretty well on 6s.
E-Revo: If you want to run a 6s setup I think the 60mm should be fine for your track. I'm running a 70mm 2000KV in my Hyper 7 currently on 4s lipo with the soft start on my MGM all the way up and my onroad tires can't keep up with the soft start  It's only got an 18T pinion on it right now, probably move up to a 22T with as cool as everything runs (MGM is a little warmer than the air temp, the motor gets up to 90-100 after a full run, despite being Maxamps lipos they only get mildly warm). |

i was thinking about getting the 36-70-2300 for my MP7.5 buggy
i wanted to make sure i got the power i needed at my track for the tripples. plan to run it on 4 cells. does that seem like an okay combo? |
Should be good. I run my 2000KV motor on 4s and it goes pretty well. At 18/46 I still have room to gear up a ways.
|
cool, i will have to get into that calculator to get some good speed numbers, but i think that the motor i am going to shoot at.
