Arct1k 02.11.2009 04:56 PM

Truggy/MT 2200kv 1515 1Y or 2000kv 70mm Medusa

BrianG 02.11.2009 04:59 PM

Around 2000kv

derek_18mt 02.11.2009 05:02 PM

should i go with medusa or the mmm combo or the speed passion combo?

Arct1k 02.11.2009 05:08 PM

MMM combo IMO but I think you know that by now - LOL

derek_18mt 02.11.2009 05:33 PM

ok one more question what about a novak hv esc and a medusa/neu 1512(only nue i can afford haha)

BrianG 02.11.2009 05:37 PM

Nope. The Novak ESC needs a sensored motor. However, you could use a sensorless ESC with a sensored motor (just don't hook up the sensor wire).

derek_18mt 02.11.2009 05:48 PM

is sensored better?

BrianG 02.11.2009 05:55 PM

Only for realllllyyyy slow moving. Once the vehicle is over ~1mph, sensored has no advantage.

how does the novak 5.5 work in a truggy?

BrianG 02.11.2009 06:08 PM

Too small unless you use really low gearing for speeds no more than 30mph IMO.

It doesn't. The Novak HV series can be used in 1/8 trucks, but thier motors are not nearly as powerful due to the smaller diameter rotor used.

Edit: Did you mean to say HV?

should i run 4s or 6s?? srry for all the questions

BrianG 02.11.2009 06:39 PM

Depends on your ESC. Can it handle 6s? You generally use a battery voltage as high as the ESC will support, and then a motor kv that will get you a total of ~35-40krpm.

derek_18mt 02.11.2009 06:51 PM

What about a 8.5 2200kv motor (sensored) on 4s lipos setup with novak esc???
