You'll get the same feeling when moving to lipo as you did going to BL! It will feel like a new truck again, AGAIN!

trev3813 02.21.2009 11:59 PM

Yes! I agree, this summer, lol, i can barely handle it now. Im surprised im not making a snow jump, lol, trying to keep myself from going on the snow. Now i want summer even more!

Those Flat Iron tires won't work well in the snow anyways... I tried them on my Slash.

Lol, yeah, but there great for dirt, i was playin on some where my uncle plowed, haha its awesome, i need the castle link tho, i need more braking power! Anyone wanna help me out :mdr: i almost got it run over by a jeep already.

trev3813 02.22.2009 01:30 AM

Lol, it was next to the street i was power sliding in the dirt and i punched it and it caught wheelied i slammed the brakes, but it just slowed down 2 feet away from the road the i turned hard and got really close to a jeep.

It looks good, but you should shorten the wires between the battery and ESC as much as you can. Those cells are good, but they still have a lot of internal resistance. If you shorten the wires you might notice a little more punch out of them.

man i know how u feel, 1st time a ran brushless and lipo in my rc18mt i was over the moon. and i caught the bug bad, i have 3 projects going at the same time (slowly) Revo, LST2, and an 8ight-B and thats only cars. i`m also converting one of my planes from nitro to electric (outrunner brushless).
Have fun!! i know i will

Well, just postin an update, got another spur from a friend, been bashin at home depot, they got good parkin lot jumps. runnin 23/90 wondering it thats too much? Should i put the 19T back on? Also, im looking for teh best way to mount my Esc to the Esc Plate, Any ideas?

Gearing = if the temps are all fine, then the gearing is fine basically. The motor shouldnt excede 180*f max, esc about 140-150, and batts... well, they're nimhs, so... dunno.

Ideal temps would be 120-140 on esc and motor- working them hard but not so hard that they are over heating.

Looks like there is enough room to mount the esc on the opposite side of the chassis to the rx- that will lower the CoG a touch, and place the esc in a more protected location should the rusty end up upside down. Industrial grade velcro works wonders for mounting, especially with a lightweight esc like that

Hmm, looks like im gonna have to get a temp gun.... Lol. Mount it on the chassis, could i extend the wires on the motor then? Should the rustler end upside down? Its upside down more than up wards. lol.

You shouldnt need to extend the motor wires, just route them differently around the side of the shock tower (or through it), rather than up and over it. A temp gun is essential with BL setups, otherwise you will cook something sooner or later- sticking a finger on the motor for 3 seconds aint all that precise or reliable...
