I just measured my XL wheelbase, I'm coming up with 16.00 or 406mm. Thats about 10mm different then what HPI states. No sure why that is.
I currently have the flux tranny waiting to be installed and I already did the Cen Gen diff conversion. I have one piece Ti rear hubs on order (my one piece Intgey hubs bent a hinge pin plus I dont really like Intgey as a company). So I think I ready, I would stick with my current Losi Bolt-on tires, because they are just a fuzz taller then 40 series and I think they are great. I'm currently running the big Hitec servo too.
Any body want to buy my extra gas power 5T? lol

Yeah, I figured that the hpi ifo may be wrong, thanks for the measurement!

Where did you find the ti hubs? I have the inegey ones, and they do look a bit questionable to me...

I also got a few sets of tvps from another member, so I may try to mock it up and see what it would look like. I also have a buffy who welds al, so I may get a proto sets made up and see what it looks like... I need to get a 5t body, just have a hard time paying that much for a piece of lexan...:surprised:

i do have a 1/5 scale truck body. Unpainted and still has the wrapper on it. I will email you pics of that tomorrow. On a side note I have buddy that welds aluminum, but his name isn't buffy or muffy its Steve. Some people are just born cool. I will try to model something up tomorrow on the computer and shoot you a jpeg of it.

Sounds good, definately interested in the body! I am sure Steve could have a cool nickname like muffy or fluffy (or even fluffy muff)... I replied to your previous email... You sent me a company logo?

doo540 03.09.2009 07:54 PM

Linc my company logo comes thru as an attachment on hotmail, there is also a 5t.zip file that you need to unzip and then look at the pics.
Steve does have a cool nickname, he is known as "code monkey" as in C++ code.

would you rather have cnc machined tvps or water jet? I'm leaning toward cnc at the moment. BTW code monkey owns a cnc machine and wireburn machine. So along with welding, he can write code, program and if he has to machine the old fashion way using math skills and basic manual "G" code. Has a degree in electronics too. We have discussed building brushless esc's for HV apps, along with programing the esc with sort of a blue tooth hook up off your cell phone.

I found the Ti hubs on ebay. I hope there not junk.

Either is fine with me. As far as design goes I can make a rough prototype, but that is where my skills end. I am happy with a simple design, no need for excessive machining for this kind of stuff...

The escs sound cool, especially wireless programming.

I will look up those hubs, see what I think!

Is this what you bought? http://cgi.ebay.com/ATOMIC-HPI-SAVAG...3A1%7C294%3A50

Hope not, as it is only titanium in color...
