No I don't have it yet. Why would the Y be better over the D? I never understood the difference.

the theory I didnt really looked to it......but many manufacturers and many Experienced people here will tell you the same thing....Y wind is far better in efficiency then D wind.......I did buy 1527 1D then searched internet, learned the hard way......:lol::lol::lol:.......every bit of efficiency on such large motor means A LOT of heat.....i know that now.......

all motor i use are Y wind
CC neus
1515 1y
and now a 1415 1y....

A Wye wound motor isn't "far better" in efficiency, but it is much more "tunable" with timing adjustments, so Wye wound motors have more utility. You can effectively "go up a tooth or two" with timing on a Wye wound motor(increased timing increases kv much more on a wye wound motor).
