I hope the Losi pinion works out, I was under the impression that it was hardened when I purchased it.

I would have to wait until I gave the truggy a decent test to see; depending on the result, I might just order a couple RCM pinions. But, the rain just won't quit.

As for the battery trays, here are some pics from my other conversion (see the thread here):

The Hyper ST Pro is awesome. Turns on a dime and jumps really well; it is quite easy to control in the air and soaks up landing nicely, even the bad ones.

The truggy also proved itself durable after I gave it many beatings and so far I've only broken one part: a shock rod after hitting a storm drain.

The only thing I didn't like about it is the way it unloads to the front like crazy, but I guess thats true for most truggies. So, I replaced the fluid in the center diff with 120,000wt oil. After that, it is fine and the truck still turns well.

Here it is before all the mud and grass.

Thanks! I'm quite satisfied with the paint job; surprisingly, I didn't screw up like usual.

How are temps when using 2200kv motor? Are you using 13t pinion?

Urgeoner 05.22.2009 10:18 AM

what radio are you using?

flipmac 05.22.2009 08:05 PM

I'm using 14T pinion. The motor doesn't run hot; about 50C/125F after running it on grass for about 15~20 minutes.

Radio is just a Spektrum DX2; I'd really like to get a DX3 though - they're nice!

if you find your diffs leaking (you will) these kyosho gaskets are a direct fit and will stop the leaks.

Im running 4S and 14t and getting 50C temps with Medusa 80mm 2200kv.
How is your setups in MMM? Im stepping up to 6S, soon as i get my connectors, so info would be helpful.

And those Kyosho gaskets are great, well havent checked diffs gear wear yet, as those mess up original shimming.

LOoks good, you could shorten your power wires a bit tho :)

I like the looks of the battery boxes

flipmac 05.29.2009 12:47 AM

ESC temp is usually lower than the motor; around 40C~50C and the fan never turns on.

I just ordered some of those Kyosho gaskets. Thanks for the tip, Finnster!
