I have an equinox ,would I have to get another balancer for a 6s? If so what do you recommend??

an ICE
|
Well an ICE can only do 4s lipo, so you can stick with the equinox. Have you done the high current mod to the equinox yet? It will allow you to charge at 5 amps thru it. Pretty easy, as you as you have a soldering iron and half a clue...

You can get around 80 bucks for the ICE and 25 for the equinox. I can give you some info to get the 610I for a really good price too. It can do up 6s and 250watts output so it is a powerful charger, and it has a built in balancer. |

I was looking at this, what do you think??? http://cgi.ebay.com/E-STATION-BC6-Ba...742.m153.l1262 |

Not thinking that e-station is much of a deal. |
Okay,$150 is a good price for that hyperion 610 I like it.

i have the 0606i and love it. can only do one batt at a time, but dc/ac power is great, never gets hot when using it either, and has lots of capabilities.
+1 for the 0606i |
I've got one of the BC6s- great chargers for upto 6s lipo, but limited to 50watts output- it'll take you about 2 hours to charge a 6s ~5000mah lipo.

It is important to look at the output watts, divide them by the lipo voltage you plan to charge (6s = 4.2vx6= 25.2v) and you will get the amp capabilities. So the 610i at 250 watt output can charge a 6s pack up to 9.9amps. You would also need a good power supply to get that out of it. At 12v imput you would need 21amps of power supply, figure in some losses, like 30% and you need something near 30amps worth of capability from your power supply. If you can push the voltage up to 15v, you can get away with less amp capability, but some PS will not let you adjust the voltage. |
