What track is that? Looks like a fun track to run wheeler on.

You are rolling on a stupid amount of power! LOL why dont you quad those first set of jumps?

Hotrod Hobbies in saugus CA, the first set of jumps sets you too deep in the corner when you quad it and it send tou to the marbles on the outside of the turn

 thanks, was having more fun with it than anything, trying to get it to fail in the heat/high traction really. drove it hard and it begged for more.

another clip, club race wet track sportsman class and a bunch of loud smelly cars. car ran better than ever before(steering mod really works!!) temps were only higher on the motor, about 180. thinking it was all the mud? was also geared under a little and ran a ten minute main. that seems to be the most logical explanation to me. using a new batt tray (novak) with the bottom cut out of it. mmm still going strong, was acting funny at first but recalibrated it to the radio and all was good again.

slim...what were the BIG differences that you saw in steering in your rc8....i'm just now getting used to how my rc8t handles and it turns like its on rails.....is it really worth doing??? i'm contemplating doing this but am curious as to what the pros and cons are..thx!

thanks guys for the kind words, yes it is a bit one sided against the nitros. the steering mod didnt give it more steering but got rid of the bump steer and made the steering waaaayyyyyy more consistant all around. use the outside rear hub camber rod insert on both sides of the steering link and mount the inside on the bottom of the bellcrank.

Wow, is that considered rape?

Good driving!. Pretty sure you were outpacing the train in the background too

yeah, its not all as it seems. anyone can win in the sportsman class, but race director is hesitant to run "oddball" setups with the factory guys. try to run a fair race all around no hacking until hacked upon:lol: have for years at this track. having so much fun with the car at this point i dont even care. the mmm is holding strong and the rc8 is aournd 25g off f/c and l/r and is getting better every time i drive it harder, and harder. the neu is amazing EXCEPT the wires but oh well. it was a little hot 190:surprised: at the end of the last 10 min race but the track was crazy muddy.

This is so great, racing with brushless is awesome MMM V3 has been so fantastic, has me thinking of converting all my other trucks. Here is a pic with 3 Brushless 1/8's easily making a 30 foot gap something I thought I wouldn't ever try.

Nice driving. Your car looks alot smoother and consistent now that your going double-double instead of triple-single.
I'd like to make a small suggestion if you don't mind, try going a little easier over the second double. I think if you take it like you did when you were trying to avoid the buggy that was on its lid you might see some slightly better lap times. It looks like you were going a little too far into the turn and making the track longer then it actually is.(does that make sense?) Let me know if it helps.

slimthelineman 04.16.2009 06:48 PM

yeah i know what you mean, its tough because the second double "pops" you even if you just roll it but yeah it was on my mind after watching the videos too.

went to ocrc last night and lost in the b main to Barry Baker, whatever. didnt have good tires for the track and its like racing in a closet. everyone there seems to think 2-3s is WAY to fast for the indoor track. two hotbodies d8e's were there barry had one. it looks like a tenth scale. but why not thats the gear everyone uses in them anyway. the mmm worked flawlessly again and never got above room temp. gearing was 14/46 and could not get the car to wind out down the 60' straight.

fsracer 04.18.2009 03:07 PM

That D8 has one freeking looking body from the pics that I have seen. I'll be putting my second race on the V3 tomorrow expecting the same great results as the last race, already working on the conversion of my buggy RC Monstor has been such a big help with my conversions.
