FYI if that this the castle motor it is only rated to 4S - I personally ran mine for a few times on 5s before they updated the spec and it was ok.

Just be advised that you are running out of spec and hence warranty...

You are just missing one bit of info - desired top speed...

so the limit is 4s regardless if it is v3? I would like to get a top speed between 45-60 mph nothing to hairy. My slash is clocking 53 on a 9000kv 2s pack and I'm comfortable with that just not in the dirt

Castle only rate the MOTOR to 4s : 2650*4*3.7 = 39.2K RPM... Guess they don't want them going higher....

I have run on 5s just be aware of warranty issue.

PS MMM v3 ESC is rated to 6s.

even though my car is running mod1 spur My LHS's only have mod 8 pinions and spurs in stock as this kind of setup is just not popular here.Would it be safe to convert my spur and pinion to Mod 8 being that it is an on road car?

Not really as no one makes that I am aware of a spur gear for and IGT that is Mod 0.8...

Mod 1 is not that uncommon any more - for now just buy the pinions from mike.

I ran those, broke 3 of them at the hub, and one was shattering around the tire/rim edge. And this is on a 1:10 buggy converted to 17mm hex (lightweight). Very fragile IMO. They are supposedly coming out with a revised wheel for these issues, but I'm still waiting for my warranty replacement to see how those are. Also, have a wheel balancer, they tend to need balancing badly.

I have OFNA wheels and OFNA belted treaded tires now, you gotta build them yourself, but they dont break and require less lead to balance them.
