yeah the med usa is cheap and powerfull but can touch a neu

never killed a medusa or castle , but ive snapped a rotor and thrown magnets on tekno's neu's even with minimum use !

i wont ever buy neu again ( ps they will be for sale once they come back from repair , which is a 2 month plus turn around )

vs medusa , or castle .. just buy a replacement IF failure occurs

I'll be trying my first NEU motor soon. My 80mm medusa is somewhat dissapointing me. It has a lot of power, but gets hot very quick. It could be a faulty motor, but Medusa isn't replying my emails. Also very dissapointed in cs...

We drive the HELL out of our teckno neu motors and they consistantly come off the track in the 150-165 range, keep in mind we are geared for mid 40s and are running track record laps every run.......just practicing and playing around on the track i can run a whole pack and come off around 150 if i tried to run my race pace for 20minutes i would surely toast the neu..... even though i have previously ran 30 minutes with this very truck, im ALOT better driver now .

so for me anyhting less than a hand wound neu aint gonna cut it, i might try the rx8 and tekin motors in a week or two. but i highly doubt a medusa could hold up to our racing...

Same here, this season I have raced hard and won several events.....nothing goes in my MT truck but a Neu designed motor or true Neu. My new truggy now runs a 1515 1Y/F as well.

Yeah, Neus are top-notch. But really, any decent motor will work just fine if the proper motor is selected and you get the rpms and gearing set right. Lesser motors (Feigao) work too, they just don't work quite as well or as long, and get hotter due to inefficiency. When comparing Medusa vs Neu, it comes down to how much do you want to spend for that extra little bit. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it doesn't.

I'm not sure on this, but i remember reading somewhere that the tekno neus had a different magnet with a slightly weaker setup to lessen the drag or cog effect. I'm not sure, but i don't think the windings will change the effect

I agree whole heartedly, but its hard to run anything after you had a true Neu. I have the 1515/2.5d/f in my G2R it runs 20/51 on a gorilla half tranny and 1/8 diffs, it runs under 120* most times at 4 and 5s lipo

I think racers and large vehicle users will see the benefit of the neu motors over all others. For someone with an 1/8 buggy or emaxx/erevo who does not race it can get great value out of the medusa motors.

I have a medusa in a buggy and it does well, but after reading about various people's issues with the 70 and 80mm motors I may just stick with 1521 neus for the bigger vehicles...
