gear with sence..
that's my policy.. It's a 120A controller, it should do fine, the max rpm on that motor is 65K, so it is still in the safe zone. It will shorten it's lifespan, that's for sure... on 20 cells it's insane to drive, you won't be able to do offroad with it imo.. (too fast) for offroad, 16 cells would be perfect. |
Ok well today i tried the 16 cells and tbh im quite dissapointed with the performance.
Maybe it was because it is their first run in a year(batts), but the car only wheelied like 5 times and it wasnt very fast either. I dont know what to say really. Ont thing that really annoyned me is that there was a peice of wood stuck in the suspension and it managed to dissamble one of my supershocks. So now i have a missing part for the shock that i dont have. Also notice the spring is bent and the shock shaft came out of the thread(on the car). Overall a dissapionting day for the car :/ http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...te_/Shocks.jpg |
Sorry bout the shock situation. I thought I was going to be in the same predicament earlier this week, but I managed to stop the truck before anything happened.
I just ordered some iB 3800's 16cells from Boom Boom Batts. I can't wait to try them out on the new Wanderer 7xl I have coming in. I'll let you know how crazy that gets. The batts were pretty well priced and came with G-maxx batt straps. Ask Alex Berman if you decide to get some new cells, and Mike can get cells also. |
NiMh cells need to be cycled a few times when they haven't been used in a while. It's like a person in a coma waking up; they need some time to be back to normal.
|
Is that whats causing such low performance? I mean i would be expecting ALOT more. Lets say i report in 5 cycles?
|
If you let nimhs set for a good amount of time. You do need to cycle them a few times.
|
My guess is only 3 cycles for them to be as good as they can be.
|
Tried it again today. Second recharge of the 16 cells, still only 1 or 2 wheelies, OK speed, But it seems all 4 wheels were spinning inside the tires for like half the time. Whats the most powerful tire glue out there? Or maybe im glueing them wrong.
|
Usually super glue or team orion tire glue works well for me. Rumor has it, losi tire glue is the best, according to rccaraction
|
If the performance stays a little on the sucky side as it is, im gonna think about buying a 1940/6 motor. Or Should i go with the 1950.
|
the 1940/6 is a good motor and snouldn't get the 1950 unless truck is over 12 pounds

Can mike get me a 1950? Or Any motor that is not on the site?
Anyways, You know since i was expecting so much more out of my setup, i REALLY dont want to take the wrong motor( again?), so if you say a 2240 might also be good on 16 cells and will work with the 18120, then i will consider it aswell. |
What is wrong with the 1930 setup? Is it not fast enough or strong enough.
I got a question for you. Do you have your batteries wired in parrellal or series? I have seen people wire them parellal and wonder why it don't run fast. |
oh and mike can get the 1950 motors.
