This is a cool project. In board shocks with cantilever suspension, narrow chassis, hmmmm.... I see an F1 or an Indycar. I thought FTW was for Feed The World.
|
Linc I was just thinking it would be really cool if the truck had a working tailgate on it!

oh yea I have some of that tire compound.
wish you knew where you got those tires. that's heck of alot easier to mount than my FG wheels with square hub and 5/16 hole :oh: How did you find the body ? very cool to use a truck, maybe slamm it or do like a stock race car/truck or somethin Hey Linc did I infect you with the super sizing of a emaxx/revo ? Glad to see someyone else doing it :yipi: |

LOL, nah linc is stretching a bunch of R/C's at the momnet. He's just trying to compensate for shorter lengths...:surprised: |

I will get the number off the body ,and google it to see what it is supposed to be used on, probably a FG or something similar. Quote:

Very cool linc. Nice to see another stretch coming together. The body maybe FG size, but its not FG, Firehammer maybe?. FG has the front grill/headlights in a separate section that bolts on to the main body. Cool body either way, I'm digging the scale street truck look. When my 1/5 e-revo is done more scale looking project is in my future.

Back on this after a year or so... Thinking a CC 1520 motor on 6s lipo... Or maybe hv something or other, hell I could go 8s with the 1520 motor.
Need to get the tranny mounted and see how it goes from there. Plan to have all the evenings free between xnas and new year. Hope I can get some work done on this and the 7th scale lighning street. |
Ok, have a choice between the old emaxx tranny setup as a single speed or an e savage tranny I have laying around. Pretty sure the old emaxx tranny will be stronger.
Here are the speed calc numbers: E Sav tranny: Differential Ratio: 3.3076923076923075 Transmission Ratio: 1.736842105263158 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 46 Pinion Tooth Count: 25 Total Voltage: 22.20 Motor KV: 1577 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.5 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0 Motor Current Draw: 0 Motor Coil Resistance: 0.008 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.84 : 1 Total Ratio: 10.57069 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 17.28 inches (438.88 mm) Rollout: 1.63:1 Total Motor Speed: 35009.4 RPM Vehicle Speed: 54.19 mph (87.05 km/h) Effective KV Value: 1577 Old Emaxx tranny: Differential Ratio: 3.3076923076923075 Transmission Ratio: 1.7222222222222223 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 46 Pinion Tooth Count: 25 Total Voltage: 22.20 Motor KV: 1577 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.5 Tire Ballooning (inches): 0 Motor Current Draw: 0 Motor Coil Resistance: 0.008 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 1.84 : 1 Total Ratio: 10.48171 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 17.28 inches (438.88 mm) Rollout: 1.65:1 Total Motor Speed: 35009.4 RPM Vehicle Speed: 54.65 mph (87.79 km/h) Effective KV Value: 1577 Not much difference, so I will likely stick with the emaxx tranny with the gmaxx single speed setup. Need to dig this stuff up. Found my rcm hybrid cases earlier so I just need to scare up some diffs. Might just make the rear driveshaft out of some cut and glued revo sliders. |
Wow, digging up the old projects! Wasn't this one up for sale at one point? Personally I'd keep it Traxxas with the Maxx tranny.
I did the cut and paste thing for the driveshafts on my stretch chassis Revo, it worked well. Except for the one shaft that came out of the mold bad from the factory, didn't notice it until it slapping the chassis from being out of balance. The thick shafts normally for the wheels will work in the rear. For the front and the lack of room the steering assembly makes, have to use the thinner shafts. Up front mine was double the length and it held up great. |

I think the revo driveshafts will work fine, just need to make sure they are straight so I do not have the issue you had. |
looks great!! i wish i had skills like that lol
|
I am interested to see it closer to finished product.
Looks good so far. |
