Sorry for the multiple posts. Only way it worked.
Supermaxx: The tranny is almost a direct fit, just had to file off a few mm's. Please post your comments and stuff. |
Wow that looks great...good job! I love the paint job you did too.:D

Cool conversion mate!
How is the drivetrain holding up so far? (on how many runs?) How much does it weight rtr? I love the shocksetup on the revo! (and you electric conversion as well ofcourse.. ;) ... ) |
Hey Dafni - awesome build up - Here is one thing that I have encountered in my Maxx. Where the motor wires connect to the speed controller you are going to want to support the wires. Im my maxx from jumping/flipping the wires on the motor started to ever so slightly move up and down and over time they moved up and down and the coating on the wires wore away and the motor was shotski... Just a little info for all about supporting the wires from moving.....
|
Thanks guys:)
HnC, you mean on the BL setup? Where the wires enter the 9918? I have also thought about this. What about filing the gaps between the wire up with shoe-goo?? This will prevent dirt from getting in as well. (But also hinder air-flow over the heatsink) What would be another suggestion? Thanks for the info, mate. Serum: The drivetrain mainly saw brushed power so far. The BL died on the second pack, as you might know. So far no other issues, but I will beef up the center shafts 1/8 buggy-style. I have no idea about the weight, but it is very similar to my maxx. IŽll weight it when I get the chance. Without motor, wheels and batts, it is surprisingly light. When I checked and compared it to my maxx, I could have bet it is a tad lighter. DAF |
Yeah Baby!
Great idea, looks great from the shots, can't wait to see the weight of it, looks super professional. well done.

Okay, the Revoxx weights just a tad less than 9 pounds (4,5kg). RTR, with 14 GP's, the PL 40 Bowties and body. (9L/9918)
Is this good? I guess your race-Maxxes are lighter, right? Anyhow, I think the motor has plenty of power for my truck, it accelerates quite fast. What do you think? |
that IS light!
No doubt. Did you made a movie of her? |
Re: supporting the motor wires. Dafni - Its hard to say where exactly this happened with my motor - however when you start jumping, and tumbling your revo - the motor wires will start moving up and down with the truck - this will over time break the covering on the windings and short them out - hence replace the motor - So if you would find some way to support the wires it would be beneficial to ya. As far as our race maxxes - Mine is a little over 9lbs - all aluminum, fully loaded with batteries and body - Some of Mikes are lighter  than that - LOL

Now I see what you meant! The isolated windings on the motor. I thought you were talking about the wires on the controller.
Yes, I have also thought about how sensitive this strange isolation on those winding-leads looks. I shortened the wires from the controller to the motor as much as possible, to reduce their mass. But I might still consider something else, too. Just need to support those wires somehow. So those Race maxxes are also 8+pounds?! I'm always surprised on how light the Revoxx is without batts, wheels and BL combo. It's amazing. |
