I have just found someone who is selling their Hyper ST for $250 all bits are pro parts apart from centre spider diff and CVD's.

Yeah, for $50 buy it new as a Pro. God knows what you end up replacing anyway. Is he sold it for $150, then I'd consider it. :)

I have been doing a bit of research lately and found the KD36 series on Hobbycity.com. Will this motor be any good in the ST until i can afford a Medusa?

Could someone who runs this motor or knows something about them chime in and tell me a bit about them?

That's basically a Feigao 9XL but not built as well. I've got some HobbyCity motors and they do work but they run hot and nowhere near the power of a Medusa or a Neu. IMO you're best off saving the cost of the motor as well as shipping until you can get the real deal.

Is there anything else cheap i can run for the time being? All i have is a Velineon motor but i reckon that would cook itself very easily....

The motor is about the last major thing im going to buy anyway.

Unsullied_Spy 07.04.2009 06:12 AM

Those are the cheapest motors I know of that will work. The Velineon geared for anything more than 20 MPH or so will definitely cook. One of those with an RC-M heatsink clamp will keep the endbells on and it'll give you a few more minutes of run time before you have to let it cool but it is not a long-term investment.

How does this look for a power supply? http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/s...0mAh_4S1P_25C_

wow why would it be more expensive to get one 4s1p turnigy than 2 2s1p turnigy all 5000mah.

does anyone know if the price goes up when they sell all the mis labeled turnigy 15c batteries that are actually 20-30c?

Mystro 07.08.2009 02:56 AM

I got my Hyper st today and im quite happy with the way it looks.
It doesnt have centre or rear cvd's would it be worth getting these aswell as the centre spider diff...?

Mystro 08.13.2009 02:27 AM

So its time to get a Motor, ESC, Battery, bit's n bobs.

I don't want to spend the big dollars on a brand new ESC and Motor so are there any guys who are selling there Motor or ESC? Looking for a motor around the 2000kv mark.

Either post here or Pm

Cheers
