i just got done running at a huge track today running 4-5s, 4s geared 13/46 on the tekin 2250 truggy motor is about 40 mph with the epa all the way up, speedo 140 motor 140 after 5 min quallifiers, put in a 5s and turned the epa down to 90 from 125 for 5s, after 15 mins, speedo 150, motor 150, i do not believe that turning the epa down affects the temp that much is this agreed by my temps?

Hi guys,

Sorry for the old kick, but the topic is still relevant so I'm posting my Q here.

I've read this thread and I understand that EPA is just a ''quick way'' of limiting the throtthle, for example when someone else wants to drive your car, and it doesn't make up for a bad set-up. But you all talk about adjusting your EPA down. What would happen when I calibrate with the EPA set to 100 and then turn it up to lets say 150. Is the ESC ''protected'' from this or how does this work?? Basically the voltage of the LiPo decide top speed and EPA does not influence the voltage so it should be harmless, or is this wrong?

Thanks guys!

No real advantage to calibrating your ESC like this. Turn up your EPA to 150 and then calibrate so you have as much throttle resolution as possible. But to answer your original question, no, turning the EPA up past what you calibrated to full throttle will not hurt the controller. It will, however, register full throttle at about 2/3 throttle on your radio.

Thanks for letting me know. So basically it's harmless, but silly to do. Rgr
