I can understand your frustration, however, tinkering is part of the rc hobby. I just got my savage flux in the mail today and before I even turned it on had the diffs apart, then had to mod the battery boxes. Took me quite a while to get it together and make sure it was all correct before running it for 5 minutes to do a whole pile of cartwheels breaking a steering knuckle.

You will ALWAYS be tearing that thing apart, checking temps, lubing, breaking ect. ect.

What voltage are the packs at when you take them off the truck, then how many MAH do they take back in?

grevo26maxx 07.07.2009 01:04 AM

20c rating packs and hyperion charger and a racers edge super 2000 charger balancing every time. They are at 8.4/4.2 after charging 4.2 individually Ill take voltage off the truck tomorrow!

Man, you'll love brushless. Were you previously a nitro guy?

BP-Revo 07.07.2009 01:33 AM

Sounds like the ESC is thermaling.

Throw in the 'Speed pinion' that was included in the truck (it is 23T vs the stock installed 28T pinion) and it will significantly help with the heat. Will also naturally slow the truck down so you might not need to run it in training mode.

LiqrSicc 07.07.2009 02:28 AM

If running 2s you should be fine with the stock pinion. If you are running 2s in parallel and getting 7 minutes but if you run an individual pack and get 20 minutes you may want to check your parallel adapter. Try taking it out of training mode and see if that works.

If they come own to anything but 3.0-3.5 your lvc is set wrong.

Metallover 07.07.2009 10:58 AM

Are you running stock tires?

junkman 07.07.2009 11:18 AM

The motor/esc do sound awefully hot, esp for the smaller rig. If the motor got much hotter than that it could have toasted it right from the get go. It will get hot, and will cause a heck of a drain on the batts. That doesn't explain the run time on 1 pack. This is a weird one.
