Call it a pool of funds, every donater gets their turn to realise some benefit...you're just doing some longer term RC investing...

this would give the people with more pocket change a unfair advantage.....unless I don't know how gambling works? (I don't gamble)

I can setup a PP account again...

Considering how alot of you responded with I never win anything, we can just call it a donation. That is not gambling. I'm in Brian, but I gave up on using Paypal so I would have to have our bank BoA send you a check for my DONATION. Sounds like a good idea to me, and the RCM gift certificate is something that all of us could use somehow.

I'm in. I honestly don't think it will be very hard at all to get around the raffle license. Just simply say you're buying something from them as someone mentioned earlier in the thread...

Foxracin 07.16.2009 09:27 PM

Lets do it.

eovnu87435ds 07.16.2009 11:14 PM

The only problem I see is this: everybody wants to do this raffle, which means nobody will want to host it, since that would make them ineligible to win, unless there is some sort of online raffle service that is controlled by someone outside of RCM so that even though one person from RCM is in control of the paypal account, they are not in control of choosing who's the winner.

Other than that, I'm all for it!

Arct1k 07.16.2009 11:20 PM

I'll host and i don;t care for winning - I'll use a random num generator...

BL_RV0 07.16.2009 11:32 PM

A word to the wise- if you send the money as a gift under the "personal" tab there are no fees.

rootar 07.16.2009 11:56 PM

sounds like a good plan, how about lets limit it to one entry per person per raffle that way its always equal no matter what.... ill send my "donation" shortly. when will a name be drawn? end of july?

and was it ok'd with the monster?

BrianG 07.17.2009 12:05 AM

I think we should ask Mike before this goes forward. And maybe a post outlining the complete terms.

Arct1k 07.17.2009 12:07 AM

FYI I'd prefer a 50:50 or 75:25 where some goes to charity

riverat1540 07.17.2009 12:23 AM

i think it would be cool but needs to be thoughtfully planned as i can see alot of people participating and raising a pretty big pot real fast, perhaps multiple prizes each drawing to spread the wealth and keep fun with more people winning stuff.

I'm not against charity but I don't know about the percentage. If 10 people pitch in @ 50:50 it's only $25 gift cert. Then there's the problem of picking a charity.

Back when Katrina hit the pizza shop did a charity day where ALL PROCEDES, not just profits, where donated. The Owner hadn't decided what charity until after, or at least didn't tell anyone. He said to hell with helping people that are all about themselves, lazy, or whatever. He wanted to make sure this donation really helped. We wound up bringing in about $2100 for the day, a Sunday that would normally be less than 1/2 that. The procedes along with his own donation added up to a $3000 to the Houston ASPCA, the shelter where most of the abandoned animals went!

Just my $.02 but I say we help the helpless, the animals!

I'm not saying that there aren't charities out there with a good cause to help humans that serve a purpose on earth but the animals are my choice.
