Yeah, the nice thing about the Medusas are the large variety that they came in. CC has a whopping two motors, and most of the others are aimed mostly at 1/8th scale, or made really crappy for 1/10 scale (like the 1/10 scale CC motors.) the 50mm motors w/ 5mm shafts for the .5s and such are perfect and were only ~$100

In the end I think they were just a bit too slow to the game for the cars side of the hobby. They only got their 70mm and 80mm launched just before the CC motors came out. Had they been 6mos/yr before, tey could have done really well.

Don't know where these fell for the air and water guys tho.

I just found out that they are going out of business, that's unfortunate, they had a decent product from what I have heard, but not quite the value of a CC Neu I guess.

The CC/Neu had a diameter advantage over the Medusa. 8mm iirc.

I have a crt.5 with the rcbros.com electric conversion, and I can fit the castle/neu 2200kv motor, which is an 80mm can. I haven't run it like that, thats just a little too much overkill, but it fits!

I'm not 100% sure about the rc-monster kit. although it looks like it should.

sure.... deleat my thread, and leave this one... I get it now:lol::rofl:

why not use a novak HV motor in a mini crt??

E-Revonut 07.29.2009 10:33 AM

I posted about using the Novak HV motors in another thread. Before I got my Medusa I ran a HV 4.5 on 2s with a MM esc in my CRT.5. It ran great, smooth and stayed cool.
If I hadn't already ordered the Medusa I prolly would have kept the Novak. If you could still get the 1/8" shaft then they could truly shine in 1/10 scale 2wd as well. In some cases you can still use them with the 5mm shaft though

Medusa no longer in the RC Business

Posted in the first thread about this.

I'v got one with the 1/8 shaft:yes: and nobody wants to buy it:no:

I've been looking for a 036-50-3300kV so if anyone wants to sell one..

Medusa has been selling out so fast, it's hard to keep stock, one minute, last night, they had 1 3300kV in stock, 3 minutes later, they were out, how lame..

Maybe Castle should buy over Medusa, so that Medusa can still stay in business? Or am I completely missing the point?
