OK, This is wearing me out ?
Rethinking the chassis, I'm seriously reconsidering the Tekno and going with the RCM mount. I really wanted to retain mechanical brakes but If I can get a smart diff to work in the center I may get the steering I want in the corners. I was thinking the mechanical brakes would help in the apex of getting the buggy to turn/rotate better but it would scrub off speed the smart diff may retain ? Going with the RCM mount and battery tray will be cheaper and lighter than the Tekno mount and extra servo ? Decisions Decisions UUUGGGGHHHH |

I wouldn't bother with the mech brakes, I can't tell the difference between motor brakes and mechanical brakes.
As for the smart diff, it should fit fine, though the bearings are going to be a problem - Losi is imperial, and uses funny size bearings anyway. I'd just run a slipperential - the spur is already the right size too, though so is the Losi spur. I'm running the stock diff oil and it seems to be fine though I am running a stupidly heavy buggy (with a 6S 6100mAh battery!). 4.1kg:oh:. I'll get some pics eventually. I am working on CAD designs for a quick release battery design similar to that of a cordless drill, it will allow 5 second pit stops, and the use of a battery that is only 356g. It should be good, fingers crossed. |
Mr. Marvin,
What are the Fluid weights that come in the kit ?? So you really think The Slipperential would be a wiser application over the smart diff ? Our Tracks here are small and tight and I theorized the SD would allow better radius. |
I can't for the life of me remember what fluids are in the kit, #400 Shock Oil? 5000 Fr and Centre diff, 3000 for rear?
Give the Smart Diff a go, if you don't like it, or it doesn't fit, it will be easy to sell on. Oh, and Marvin is just a nick name, I'm Simon really. |
So your running the Kit diff fluids ? The front doesn't unload to badly ??
