Doing this will help in stiffening the motor plate by securing the bottom of the motor mount with a screw in the round plastic part the mount pivots on. When adjusting the gear mesh, that bottom screw needs to be loosened same as the top one. I have modified that round plastic part further more by installing brass inserts so that I can now really screw the motor mount very tight against the motor plate.

Why not just make a mount out of a piece of CF.. Shouldn't be to hard with a dremel.

Yes - "Two are better than one" - screws in this case. When I saw the mount separating from the plate, I wasn't surprised since the stock set-up only has one screw holding them together. What you did looks nice. |
