Closer pics.... sorry about the small pics but it won't let me upload them unless I shrink them this small.

Nice and clean sluggie. Little tip: try moving the heatsink on the motor to the top of the can. As I'm sure you know, heat rises, meaning the top of the motor will always be hotter than the bottom. Putting the heatsink at the top will help dissipate that heat a bit more. Just my thoughts....

Otherwise nice truck! :D

Looks good sluggie!

i'm sure you will strip those wheels pretty soon though. an 8xl on 20 cells is a beast.

Bigbudd 02.18.2006 04:06 AM

Nice Truck! Where can I get an esc mount like yours?

Serum 02.18.2006 04:09 AM

homemade.

JOHNNYMAXXIMA 02.18.2006 04:21 AM

Sluggie, how do you have your esc connected to your motor? Looks pretty clean.

sluggie24 02.18.2006 08:23 AM

Thanks everybody! Your right Serum, the wheels will go eventually. But I must say I did a few cartwheels at about 30mph and they didn't give so they might last longer than I thought. Can Mike get the UE wheels at a better price than they have listed like he does their servo saver? Bigbudd, I got the esc mount here https://ssl9.secure-svr.com/rc-solut...?iProductID=36 I put a piece of 1/2 in. thick foam tape under it esc to protect from damage and just ziptied the esc to the bracket. Johnnymaxxima, I just used 5.5mm connectors with heatshrink tubing. Clean and easy to take apart.

works like a charm. try to CA glue the hexes in the wheels, they will last longer.

Well I ran it again at 18/51 and i got some temp readings, 178 on the motor, 140 on the esc, 130 on the batts. Wouldnt that say that its undergeared??? I got a 16t im going to try out.

E-maxx-kid 02.18.2006 12:45 PM

Well, since you have ue diffs, I would say its more likely to be undergeared rather than over, but still I would wait till your batts have had a few cycles.

coolhandcountry 02.18.2006 12:50 PM

If you drop two cells the temps would be a lot better on the motor.

Did you run it from full charge to full discharge? - Did you run it like you stole it ? that will make a difference in temps also - Plus i still refer to my previous post re: getting some cycles on those batts....

sluggie24 02.18.2006 01:30 PM

I took my truck to the park again to try and verrify if the gearing is correct since a few people said 18/51 might be too high. After running about 10 mins at allmost top speed the whole time I noticed it starting to cog so I checked the temps. Motor and esc very hot, bats warm to hot. I'm gonna throw in a 16t pinion and try and get back out today or tomorrow to see how it works on that. Does everyone think that would be a better ratio to cool things down? I was running 20 cells again. Might try 20 and 14cells with the 16t but if the temps drop to where I want them then I might just keep it on 20 cells.
