just recently a guy's castle-neu rotor exploded. and my losi would have exploded as well, if I didn't seal the rotor bonding which was getting loose due to sand. even the lehner's loosing segments... they all can fail. but when the arc's not bonded, that might be a problem. I can't forget that statment of the 75mm on 8s. surviving that, I think they're solid, but I think we wil find out:whip:

Took my Muggy out bashing today. MMM 6s 4000 30C Zippys. I have the 36-75-1 ARC motor with a heatsink/fan combo on it from Hobby City, exactly like this:

Running 15-tooth pinion, 46-tooth spur. Don't think the fan is really necessary, but since I purchased 5 of them at one time, I put them on most of my 1/8 conversions as a precaution. They seem to lower temps an average of 20 degrees (F). Wheels are large (and relatively heavy) Hot Bodies wheels.

I ran in an open parking lot which is surrounded by steep, grassy hills that lead to adjacent parking lots. I consider this worst-case scenario as the vehicle is run in either wide-open throttle in the open parking lot, or being bogged down in tall grass (as tall as the wheels) going up steep hills.

Temps after 20 minutes of this were: Motor 153.5 F, Battery 121 F ESC 132 F

Motor has plenty of torque and throws the Muggy around nicely. Center diff fluid could be a little thicker as the front tires ballooned if I pegged the throttle. I could flip the truck on its lid from a standstill as well. Overall the motor seems a more powerful than my CC 2200, NEU 1515 2.5 D or my Hacker C50 11XL. Temps were lower in this setup than the CC 2200 and Hacker motor, but on par with the NEU 1515 2.5 D.

I covered the cooling holes with aluminum tape to prevent dirt from damaging the motor. Overall, for the price I'd consider this a good alternative for a larger 1/8 scale vehicle or monster truck. I didn't have many hard impacts, so I cannot verify if the end caps would pop off during a hard crash or not.
