Little more help.
I ordered 2 x Hot Bodies diffs from place in the UK since RC Monster doesn't have them. 2 more things I need. Does anyone have a link to the drive cups needed for the diffs (out of stock here) and I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for. I know its a 1/8th scale cup but any I have seen have 4mm set screw, not sure thats make a difference. Also, what oil and grease does anyone use in the Hybrid/HB Diffs, I like some speed runs aswell as bashing, any links would be great. Thanks Guys. |
Hot bodies drive cups are what I used, but finding them ( or any 8mm bore versions for that matter ) is somewhat tricky. I would hit up ebay to start with, search for 'hot bodies'... but specify in the toys & games section, otherwise... well, you can only imagine the results you will get. I'll have a look too when I get home- the work PC doesnt like alot of sites that use flash, and no way to update it withot being an Admin.
As for diff fluid- 7k front & 5k rear is a good starting point, or 5k front & 3k rear maybe if you prefer a bit more diff-action. |

Thanks, I did have a look around for 8mm bore drive cup but nothing. Plenty of drive cups but when your not sure what is 8mm and whats not it is like sticking a pin in them and there no chance any place will put a description with the them :grrrrrr: Diff fluid, might go for the 7/5k so. |
I have some UE 8mm drive cups and a complete set of 6 spyder diffs that I can sell but I'm currently away on a deployment (US Navy).

Shaz-zam:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Hot-Bodies-C80...d=p3286.c0.m14 You need two of these, and some 4mm set screws to secure them in place (about 4mm long for the setscrews is ideal if my memory serves me correctly, though you can always grind them down if they are a little bit long). Some blue threadloc will come in handy too.. |

Excellent, Thanks a million. That place on ebay only had one, but once I knew what I needed I did a serch and got a seller that had some and some sets screws aswell. So think I'm good to go now, think I have everything. Just waiting on the postman. |
Still waiting for shipment from the UK, damn, postal strike.
Quick question the below output shaft, anyone know where I can get a similar one as RCMonster want $26 to ship to Ireland. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail...d=RCMdiffshaft Thanks. |
Use the outer part of a Revo stub axle with the threads cut off... Lot cheaper... Found out after makin the investment for the RCM shafts...
|
Oh wow, part #5454, great idea and they work?
Thanks for the info. |
Got this idea from George16 (Lito)... Ask the Maxx guru, he will know for sure... I havent done it yet, but I have the parts on hand to convert another set of LST diffs to work in a Maxx...
|
Excellent. thanks
