Hey that is about your length stampy.

Superemaxx89 02.25.2006 11:20 PM

so why a 2250 when you can buy a 9xl or something like that for $340 less??

stampy 02.25.2006 11:25 PM

cool: ya pretty close about mines about .25 longer
super: the 2250 is more powerfull and smoother than the xl motors

coolhandcountry 02.25.2006 11:39 PM

Well super it is like why get a 1950 when you get a xl either. It comes down to the quality. The 1950 is smoother and more powerful than the xl motors. The 2250 is just a plan power house. Yes it is some money to pay for a motor. I have one and it is worth the money. I love it.

so why not a 2280 high amp?

Serum 02.26.2006 04:16 AM

Because it's not a go-cart that needs to be powered....

i think they end up only around 4kg RTR.The question is how fast do you want to go?i think 50mph is fast for an off-road truck but some people need more.
Also is lightweight and handling more important or big power and straightline speed.
For a racier 40mph setup i'd take a 1940,mount it above the spur in the centre and move the batteries closer to the centre line to lower the yaw moment.i think that would be the best handling.
For heavier motors,i'd mount it low beside the spur, due to the weight of the motor.
A 1950 would do mid 50s i would think,beyond that the 2240.

I'd be a little cautious about the alloy bevel shafts in the Jammin,i guess any BL motor will test these though.
Edit;nl12,since you have access to a machine shop it would be easy to run off a set of steel bevel gear shafts on a lathe if the alloy ones become a problem.

The 2280 would be nice if you planning to ride it to. The 2250 is more power than a rc can handle. The motor turns whether truck moves or not. I have ripped the teeth off a couple spurs now. I put better tires on and the problem has got worse. I am trying to put a stronger mount in truck and go from there.

Man, I was satisfied with my 7xl. I guess its gonna become outdated to like the old basic 4200's, hacker 8or12s, and the c50's. Until the lehner's come down in price, I'm sticking with my xl's.........

Needless to say that would be insane to put a 2250 on that Jammin, put some wings on the sides and take off.....

coolhandcountry 02.26.2006 09:24 AM

If you want to step up in power some nitro. The 1950 has some more power than the xl cans.

nitrostarter 02.26.2006 10:27 AM

With triple the price too......... I'm in college, working to pay for gas expenses commuting back and forth. Nothing big is going to be bought until the summer unless it blows up.....

coolhandcountry 02.26.2006 10:32 AM

If you happy with it why worry. :D Me I am hard to satisfy me. I love power.
