Yes, I do have it plugged into the receiver.
Yes, it is plugged all the way in. |
Everyone:
Thank you for your help. I'm sending this halfway across the world. I didn't even get to run this for two seconds. This totally blows. |
I was refering to the right way. It is not hard to hook it up backwards.

But MGM's turn-around super fast! :) Artur |

Mike: I received my 12016 today and programmed it. It works fine. I like the freewheel option. Henry will give it the full workout on Monday.
By testing it in my yard, I found that I like it a lot. The 16016 is on its way to The Czech Republic. I cannot wait to use that 5408S on my RS4 Sport 2. Of course, I'm using an Orion Revolution V2 13x2 on it now. Fast, but not fast enough. It's gonna scream. |
Cool. LMK if you want me to drop MGM aline to keep the focused on a speedy return for your 16016. :)

Actually, I think spending three days messing with something that I have a LOT of experience with is sticking with it a little TOO long. Believe me, I tried everything. I wasn't just going to send it to Europe without exhausting every possibility. |
Well, Henry gave the 12016 a serious workout.
Let me say that this is a very good speed controller. It took awhile to get it programmed, but I like the features. I set it up the way I wanted, then I let it automatically program itself. After its first run, I shut it down and restarted it. The settings were still there, but it had adjusted itself perfectly. This thing ran until the batteries (Pro-Match IB3800s) gave out. No thermals. Not even very hot. It kept taking abuse all day. I am very impressed. When my 16020 returns, I'll test it once, then shelve it as a backup. The 12016 is more than enough for my 13-pound E-Maxx with 7" tires. |

Thanks, Mike. That would be nice. It's been two weeks since I sent it, and I asked for them to email me when they received it. Could you look into it for me? Thanks, Ron |
I have just experienced the same problem.
Was there a quick fix to this or did it have to go over to MGM.
Exactly what you described here, just happened to my 16016! Guys, I have an 16016 Compro - its only 3 days old. It programmed ok, gave it a test run on the bench only to find that it shut off after a couple of squirts of the throttle. No smoke or anything out of the ordinary. Though on repowering/reconnecting a pack I get the consistent beeping error message. Problem is that it wont supply a BEC charge so even by passing the BEC and running a separate pack wont reset the controller. I have tried everything yet cant get the controller to reset and take a program. Its not turning the motor at all. Any thoughts, or is it dead. If its dead do I send to MGM or Monster RC(reseller) for repair? Regards GB |
Hehe. Sounds familiar.
It needs to be re-programmed. Ask Mike what he thinks, or e-mail them and make arrangements to ship it to them. It only cost me eight bucks, and I got it back in around three weeks. They will communicate with you very well. Ron P.S. If you declare its value at ten bucks, it will breeze through customs, but that is your call. |
What is it with the 16016s? I've had serious trouble with mine. When it works it's great, but that has been seldom.
One note about the error beeping at start-up. I have found that both the servo reversing and the response rate (if equipped, like on my Nomadio) need to be set properly before it will accept programing inputs. I could not get mine to stop until I slowed down the radio signal by changing it from a digital signal output to an analog. |
What's this about sending the Compro in for re-programming. MGM didn't mention anything about that to me. I just put my Compro up for sale.
