Buggy races allow 6s? I know china restrict 1/8 Ep buggies on 4s.

u think 6s in a buggy would make it too punchy and hard to drive smooth?

superek4 01.01.2010 10:44 AM

I can always set my punch lower. Now my 4s with neu 2050 I set my throttle EPA to 100% n punch to 50% very punchy n nice to drive.

If you didn't read my other post, i run a Zippy 40c 4s 3000 mAh in my buggy and and makes 10 min. mains on an indoor clay track with ease. Setup is 8ight/tekin 1900. Temps are motor: 110-120F, battery: 90-100F

Problem is 4s with 1512/2.5 is not fast enough. My spur is 46/16(max pinion due to the meshing.

Either I change motor or change batt.

My truggy is using 6s. I think to run both cars on 6s is cost saving n both are almost the same setting.

Just thinking of 2650 or 3000mah becoz of space in the buggy.

Small track draw less amps vs big track? Is it becoz less full throttle? How long can your 6s 2600 Mah batt last you? 12-15mins? Wats was the per cell voltage remaining?

Yes, much less time at full throttle. My local track has only one long straight where you can get full throttle. I usually have near 3.7v/cell as I have never actually hit the LVC with this car yet.

I have run about 12 to 15 min: 10 min main with a few warm up laps and sometimes a little playing after, still yet to hit the LVC though. After 7 min. qualifier I use 1200 - 1600 mah, 10 min. main uses about 1800 - 2300 mah

Local race series allows any batteries, they do have a 4s limit for the regional series that comes around a couple times a year.

With proper kv motor, it is no different than 4s, except you do get a bit more punch since the voltage drops less under acceleration. Also, everything runs super cool.

superek4 01.02.2010 02:12 AM

Amazing are u using 6s 2600 for your muggy too?

bdebde 01.02.2010 04:13 AM

No, I use 4100 and 4300 6s in the Muggy.

superek4 01.02.2010 04:35 AM

I m intending to use 6s 2650 on my truggy, my truggy only consume 200amp per min. My mains n heats is only 7-8mins. No more carrying dead weight:)

just be sure to get the 40c packs. i recommend the turnigy packs over the flightmax packs as they tend to have a little lower resistance and they stay balanced easier.

superek4 01.03.2010 11:50 PM

Turnigy is longer right? My batt tray can only fit flightmax.
