Benji - Get rid of the fans, get LPR or VTR low profile tires and wheels, get rid of the Rx box, get smaller (lighter) batts for racing...

I have a D8T in the works, chassis is done and converted (all electronics installed), just need to buy the kit to get the rest of the rig. It may be on hold till spring though, depends how finances are for the next little bit. Not many guys running truggy at the indoor track anyhow.

Great input guys - thanks. I think this is a great FYI topic personally. By the way, I finally have a few photos of my truck - here are a few:

Thanks for your comments.
I have fan only on the motor, the ESC have the original fan and 2nd cover to protect it from small stones. I live in a very hot country and the fan is a must.

As for the batts, will 4S 4000mA 30C be OK? my speed setup is for 35mph

Depends - what kind of run time are you going for? Seems like most guys running 4s are using the 5000mah batts if I remember right.

Rear wing mount looks a bit heavy

Sower 02.16.2010 04:36 PM

Anyone have a D8T or MBX6T weighed out?

Byte 02.16.2010 06:32 PM

That's very nice Bondonutz! Did you made all those CF parts yourself? Oh.. and are that those HC connectors? How do they perform?

Bondonutz 02.16.2010 08:30 PM

Byte, Thank You.

No, The CF chassis kit was purchased a few years ago, can't remember the Co's name. They are still around though, they had 2.5 & 3mm kits. Mines 3mm.

The HC plugs, LUV'EM.

They actually helped temps by a few degrees, The Deans plugs used to get warm(not hot) and these stay cool as ice.
Bonus is now my Bum friends who wrecked their Lipos with carelessness can't borrow my packs anymore. Had 2 get ruined last yr from lending, and have yet to be reimbursed.
They have a nice broad area to grab ahold of also, verses the little Deans.
Not knocking Deans at all,ben using them for 10+ yrs w/little to no failure but I Def like these jobbers better !

Any updates on that D8T? I'd love to hear how it weighs in.
