yup you got it its mutch simpler and takes mutch less room.
feed the wires throught the hole ?/\/\ as shown up above and sandwith the esc and ubec like a sandwitch |
You and your Sandwich's :P

I ran it for the first time at the track and raced it too. I raced it in the truggy class and it feels dialed. The turning radius is really tight for technical tracks and I had no problem making 10 minutes with the current motor (S can 4000kv is still on the way). At the end of the races the battery was 95, the motor was 145 and the esc was around 140.
The slipper always unwound, I had to tighten it before every race. Aside from that nothing else went wrong. I TQ'd out of about 20 people and came in second in the A. They didn't give me a mini plaque for the race, cause i'm a big power to weight ratio cheater. But I don't mind, I'll keep racing. I had great time with it. |
Yay! :)

mT2
I converted my MT2, but I didn't go BL yet. I need to get some pics! I have mine setup using an 8 cell hump pack. It feels very well ballanced. Even with a brushed 15x2 speed gem pro it flat out RIPS!:017: Although I recently smoked my esc!:035: It was a Tazer 15t. 8 cells was just too much for it:035:
Have you thought of going with a hump pack setup? |
The 8 cell is custom made and it works great where it's placed. I have velcro on the top now for easy removals. I was thinking of doing the brushed thing, though with a 550 motor and 8 cells. A 550 on 8 cells would be enough for fun and I'm sure it wouldn't beat the controller too long. Any sort of mod motor would burn up quick.

I got the motor a few days ago and put it in yesterday. I ran it on a half charged pack and it definately pulls way harder than the 540c.
I put in a fully charged 8 cell packs and I was rolling around gunning it. It would spin the dirt hawgs on the pavement up till around 15mph. You could hear the tires lose traction. Then it caught me off guard when I was almost at a complete stop and gunned it, it did a 20 foot wheelie before I even knew what happened. At a complete stop and then full throttle it will cog a until the cogging gains a little speed and then drive off, I usually limit the thottle if this happens. So I was doing 2 or 3mph rolling starts, just fast enough to eliminate the cogging problem and it still pulls a wheelie and then shifted on one tire and lost balance and cartwheeled for a good 20 feet. Wheelies are unpredictable though, sometimes it will go up fully, partially, or won't even try to. Next on the list is some good road tires and maybe the 10T pinion. The ESC did get a little got. |
are you strickly running on road. If you are then i sugest something with a medium compound.m2-m3 and some road tires. I would choose some crime fighters for road.
|
I bought a 10T pinion and a 9T. The 9T is the smallest possible and I am running it now. Unfortunately this makes my 2nd ESC to burn up. I don't know what happened, I just plugged the battery in and it started to smoke.
I still feel like these ESCs are still in their experimental stage because I hear so much about the lehners and hackers burning up. Maybe when castle releases their esc we won't have problems. |
