It's a eMachines em250-1162 with a 2gb Kingston RAM upgrade.
I'm looking at the SD option simply because they are small and do not stick out when inserted into netbook. I also have a couple usb sticks but am just looking for something that fits the case I bought better. I'll probibly just get a couple of 8gb cards. |

Using SD cards isn't the most cost effective way to add extra space. Ahh, that was a Wal-Mart black friday special, hence why the specs on it arn't so great. Throw this badboy in their. If you fill that up, well, time to get a desktop or external USB Terabyte drive. May not be as portable but hey, you can't have everything

Well I'm no media whore but my kids and wife are. I just was thinking that if I used SD cards to store movies and files I would save room on the hard drive to keep my little PC faster. I'm not very smart when it comes to computers.
What is a faster browser Firefox Google Chrome or Explorer? |

Also, your HDD read/write speed will go down a bit the closer it gets to being maxed out, but not by a huge percentage. Important thing is to keep it defragmented to help minimize drive performance loss. Use this around once or twice a month depending on how much stuff gets moved around on your HDD http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/ If you feel comfortable, you can tweak your HDD and OS settings to maximize your HDD performance http://www.microsoft.com/atwork/maintenance/speed.aspx http://www.microsoft.com/athome/setup/optimize.aspx http://www.blifaloo.com/info/winxp_speed.php And yes, I do this for a living |
