i'd say fair....sort off. i hate it when people are late for racing/marshaling.
but i also dont like the shorter heats/mains.
usualy we get combined with the MT's and drop out after the 15min mark, i keep on going for the full half hour simply cause i can

our club didnt like EP mught either, eventually after a big push we ended up with a class of our own, un-governed however (buggy can race truck so i lose big time but there are only 8 of us when EVERYONE is there) and now the class is quite commical.
everyone lines up at start, all is dead quiet...kinda earie, then BEEP BEEP!! goes one of the revo's as i toggle the 3rd channel  followed by "i gotta get me one of thoes".

GP guys also have a lot to do, i remember having to ALWAYS pull out that stupid engine to do something rather.

That's y I m starting my own race also

Sounds like the track owner is an idiot if he can't handle a simple matter like that. This is not a unique problem... many tracks have had trouble with marshals. The way you fix it, is to punish the individual who is slaking. Disqualify that run, or his best run... something to that effect.

Sounds like the nitro guys are a bunch of tools too.

Having said that, it's pretty sad that the electric guys are known for this and apparently think it's justified somehow. I would try to ask if you can get like 30 seconds after you come of the stand, before you have to be on the track to marshal... just enough time to plug in the battery and hit the start button. It's takes that long for the nitros to get warmed up anyway. And if it's an electric race up next, tell them to keep it off the pipe for the first practice lap.

Banning the electric racers is just STUPID! wtf is he thinking??!! That's like WalMart telling all the old ladies they are too slow at the checkout so they can't shop there for a month. huh????

No soup for you!

lol

Well the track decided to let us race this march but from 2 class we drop to 1.

I had great plans for 3 class

1. Truggies
2. Buggies
3. Sct

but I guess the track owner has no time for us. Gp takes alot of time. I want to do my own race just for ep. But seems that the ep guys seems waiting for me to make it happen with lips service no $ or logistic support.

I felt like a slave to them. Easy way is I just race 1 class at the present track. If I want a pure ep race I hv to do it myself with my own $.

I thought I had a strong team:( sadly my lhs told me the world is ugly lol

glassdoctor 03.14.2010 03:11 PM

That's too bad. It's not easy to get a track going because of the expense and huge amount of work/time that has to be put into it. It takes a lot of guys to form a club and do it "not for profit", and you need a lot of racers to support a commercial track.

If there is not enough electric racers to support a separate race day, then you probably can't justify doing your own electric track.

What I don't get, is why this track owner won't do an electric day? The track is there already so he has very little to loose by doing it.

We have only 15 ep racers not all are hardcore. I m hardcore for once a month race I will make time.

We once hv 2 class buggies n truggies but due to complain from racers that their cars keep breaking. Some chose 1class but the car broke down also.

Now become 1 class truggy n buggy mix:(

the track owner need to pay the landowner race fee about s$200 so to organise a race event will cost about s$2000 n need 50 racers.

Tentage n amb n race director need to be hired.

That's y I wanted to get my own system n use free land or cheap rc tracks. But seems that the ep 1/8 racers are not helping themselves n me.

So I m thinking about whether to get the system anot. It's a sad ending for a founder of 1/8 ep.

superek4 03.15.2010 09:52 PM

I m so upset with the Ep guys, I may stop racing Ep 1/8. Go to another track n race sct.:( mayb I expect too much but just once a month race I dun understand y ppl can't commit.

glassdoctor 03.15.2010 11:33 PM

Wow that's a strange setup if I understand correctly. There is a track at this location, but you have to RENT it, to hold a race? So the guy running the races actually pays the landlord for the use that day, and anyone with the cash can run a race there? I've never heard of a track operating like that... very strange.

It sounds to me like the whole thing is too much of a production.. more complicated and expensive than it needs to be.

Isn't there someone that would help you run a race?
tentage? the racers expect you to provide pit tents?
How much to rent the AMB?
How much are entry fees normally?

Perhaps approach the owner with the idea that getting some $ is better than nothing, on a day that the track isn't being used. And since you have only a few racers, you can't afford the regular rent. With only 15 racers, you could get done in half a day... so offer to pay half the rent. I would think the racers will get off their lazy ass and help a little, to get their own race day.

glassdoctor 03.15.2010 11:35 PM

If these EP guys are just worthless.... sounds like a good idea to another class or place to race and leave the drama behind.

superek4 03.16.2010 01:52 AM

The track land is own by a ex turf (horse racing) the track owner rents the track per month.

If race he will rent tentage n amb n race director.

He will need to pay race misc fee

so per race he need s$2k if not he will lose $.

So to squeeze out a Ep class is good for him with the gp but if too much delays will screw up the gp.

But Ep is not united so I m being screw by them every race it's a struggle for enough racers. So in my 1/8 Ep thread I always tell them how I feel but lately my close Ep friend told me they are feeling uncomfortable with the truth n prefer me not to say or help them.

So now I hv decided either move to another track race my scrt10 in a smaller track or stay on.

I founded this 1/8 Ep in my country help them to organise races n help them to setup their cars n hardware support n this is wat I get in return?

I am not even doing in for profit.

Once I leave hope someone will help them.

superek4 03.16.2010 01:56 AM

Half day rent is s$350 include misc fee
amb with race director is s$400
hv not include marshals
so the less racers I hv the more they pay
normal gp with Ep race is s$30 per class.
