i'm sure you'll love it compared to the msr. people think it's the msr's big brother, but it's totally different. watching eflite's promo videos, he banged the crap out of the sticks and the heli just barely moved much. i kind of wonder if you'll have the extra control to get out of sticky situations, but i'm sure there's a more advanced setting once you get used to it. i liked my msr, but my indoor space was too small to really open it up (and i'm not good enough with it to really open it up in small spaces, like some youtube vids i've seen)

how so? did you watch videos? eflite is targeting this at intermediate level, but they say it's the next step for those who have flown coax birds (which are a piece of cake). i'm curious to hear what people have to say about it.

After going back to the LHS for some tips on how to mount the battery and velco correctly, I came home and decided to give it an indoors throttle up *its raining outside now* just to get an idea of how this thing sounds compared to my MSR. To be extra safe, I taped the landing skids to the table just to prevent anything flying outa control.

With a deep breath and giving everything a final check over, I flicked on the TX and then plugged in the lipo and waited for the two beep ok from the gyro and then disengaged the throttle hold and gave it some gas....

WOW and Holy sheeet was my first initial reaction! :oh: This thing is noisy compared to my MSR, the tail motor especially whines very loudly, I almost thought something was wrong with it. Powered down and was amazed at how long it took for the rotors to stop turning! Tried it again and this time giving it a bit more throttle! Wow, seeing those big blades spinning really made me think about safety when flying this thing, it could seriously injure me or someone else! :surprised: After a few more stationary throttle ups and downs, I decided to call it an evening. I was amazed at how hot the rear motor heatsink got in a short period of time, is that normal?

Maybe tomorroo if the weather gets better it will be time for some actually light flying, can't wait!

I haven't really looked into it, but just the chassis looks mean. :lol:

i've put about 4 full batteries through it and it is definitely easier to hover than the cp/cp pro.....AND its a completely different animal than the msr...its not too bad to fly..just have to get used to being on the sticks ...LOL....FREEZE....just DO IT bro...commit...hope you have fun flying it outdoors.. :)

How long were your flight times? I was bummed out to hear the SR doesn't come with a Lipo cutoff, so when did you sense it was time to land before dropping below 9v on the lipo?

I hope tomorroo I will be able to go for its maiden flight, and not break anything. Hope this is worth canceling my 5T....

I'm curious about the lipo cut-off. In one part of the manual it says it doesn't come with it, but in another part it says it does come with a soft lipo cutoff. I'll have to double-check.

i didn't time each flight but i could "feel" the heli losing some power as i was trying to hover...it probably lasted for about 10 min or so...not to sure, since trying to get used to flying a CP heli again feels like time is going by soooo much longer than it really is...lol

i used a pair of 2s versions of this on my emaxx (had the old, original esc that had no cutoff) and they work great. it uses light and sound to tell you the lipos are low, and it weighs next to nothing. plugs into the balance tap.

Remember though you want a soft cut off. If your lipo cutoff cuts power mid air you now have pieces of a helicopter all over the place. A warning alarm would be better.

First initial flight was much tougher then I thought it would be and I already broke the blades. Not sure if im gonna pursue this further now, this is gonna take alot more patience then I thought it would.
