I agree you have to be careful Bond but I usually try to speak to the seller first in person via phone if he doesnt care enought to pick up the phone to make the sale then he is full of SH*T whether its a ten dollar item or a 1500 dollar sale maybe that should be a warning if he doesnt bother calling I have bought from several and I make sure I get called back first. this way you can annoy all day lol when they dont reply LOL

That's why when I sell anything I always put "standard shipping"......I once shipped somethng ground BC I lost a ton of $$$ shipping it priority ....the buyer wasn't too happy ESP when my auction listed priority shipping....I had no clue I put priority...anyways long story short...I bent over backwards to make this buyer happy...even refunded shipping costs....anyways...that's now why I list my sales as standard shipping...gotta keep the FB at 100%

You have every right to tack on a reasonable handling charge and cover what it takes to get it ready for the post. thats why they are called shipping and handling charges. but don't say you will do things you wont, and wait a week to send out something you should have had ready to go before the auction ended. there is no reason for a weeks wait to ship. thats just laziness!

That is basically a joke though. Almost every auction I see on Ebay has an obviously inflated shipping rate.

Hmm.. many Chinese sellers do this. E.g.: Click
If I buy this ESC, and after that I notice that the shipping only was $10 dollar. Can I just start a PayPal claim, and get a refund for the shipping costs?

He refunded shipping or refused the sale? I thought he already shipped the parts?

He supposedly did ship them, he says "I put a halt on delivery" I never heard of this let alone for FC shipping, aint no way USPS will do that ??
Now that he's refunded me if I still get the shocks he's SOL !
He's relisted them, maybe the lying A-hole never sent them ? They were supposedly in the mail almost 2 days when we started argueing.

Ereyone trys to make a little extra coin on shipping, but advertising priority and shipping FC is a dick move.

i only use ebay australia for selling and i always use calculated shipping.
the reason being is when i use a fixedc price...I GET DONE
twice i posted a shipping price that i thought to be fair because i didnt know the data needed to enter the calculated shipping option. and both times shipping cost a LOT more than what i asked for :whistle:

my nitro revo went to the middle of whoop whoop...outback australia, the desert part. dunno what he's gonna do with a race revo out there!

I ONLY ship Priority Mail w/ the 3 sized boxes. If it's bigger, I do a calculated... Then I take it to the post office, and I might not do Priority Mail if it's that expensive...
But I always get Delivery Confirmation

As far as communication, I talk to my buyers before, during, and after I ship.

You all are missing the point, while it is done, it is very stupid to admit to in writing.

There is many times a gray area on guilt, until the guilty is dumb enough to admit to it.

As I see it based on ebay rules, he has willfully and admittedly violated two major rules. I would send the messages to ebay, and see what they have to say. Covering shipping and handling costs is one thing and that's how it should always be addressed, however admitting that you are covering the ebay and paypal fees is a violation of both ebay and paypal policies.

On paypal you cannot charge extra to cover pp fees, you can however offer a cash discount.

There are some guys on several forums getting busted by paypal for getting paid as a "gift" as well, which eliminates paypal fees. The other dumb side of this is that the buyer has no recourse if their item doesn't show up.

Bondonutz 03.12.2010 11:19 AM

FYI, I don't think Ebay is going to search forums for rules breakers when this guy is totally off the hook due to giving me a refund. I sent his emails to Ebay and they sent me one of their generic letters straight form their little rule book. And told me to leave a feedback with consideration towards the seller ? If they don't give a crap about this guy pulling douche moves I doubt very serioualy I have anything to worry about "being dumb enough to admit" what everyone does including myself ?

Constantly useing "gift" will have reprocussions, because PP is losing money. They follow that trail because they are money grubbing @ssholes

rawfuls 03.12.2010 06:50 PM

Last I recalled, paying via gift is now being charged.

You or the other party will be paying the fee.
For instance if I wanted to pay you $50, and the fee was.. let's say $5.

Either I would pay $50 + $5 fee, or you can pay the fee.

It let's you choose now, so I don't think there's a way around anymore...

It's ben a couple days but, I had my wife put $500.00 (from our tax refund $)in my paypal account and sent it as "gift". No charge on either end.
And her P.P account still has her maiden name.
