I understand that your using traxxas bulks and arms but why use the traxxas steering? If your going for a 1/8 design you may want something a little stronger and with a better servo saver such as a true 1/8 scale steering setup
|
Dude, that looks "REAL GOOD" nice work.

Sick build man! I love some of your idea's, and also very curious how your going to do the chassis?
Are you planning to make it a pan chassis? |
The aluminum chassis in the picture (for example, not actually size was from a prior build) is going to be Carbon Fiber that gets sandwich between the aluminum braces and a titanium e-maxx skid plate. It goes all the way to the e rear with no skid plate. I only used the front skid plate to keep the kick up.
The top plates starting from the back of the truck are going to be C.F. Also . It will get bolted to the top of the e-maxx bulkhead and stop at the 90 on the rear brace. The middle is pictured but does need to be trimmed to length. The front plate will be as wide as the gearbox and will taper in to the front bulkhead. The servo will be mounted to this plate upside down and parallel to the drive shaft b. This is why I need a 90 degree servo saver . I was torn with using the factory e-maxx steering set up so I do have a plan B coming in the mail. All that being said, understand this was an E-MAXX I bought used for a $100 to tinker with. Somewhere it went horrible wide right. I have trouble find boundaries when to stop. :mdr: |

update

still slow going but heres updated photo for progress so far
|
looks nice...just wondering if you ever considered stretching the chassis a bit more for more stability
|
the wheel base is alittle over 15 1/2 " I didnt want to make it too long. I had a test chassis that was quite a bit shorter and it work real good, so well seehow this one does. As for making it anylonger, it would pretty much be a redo and it took me a LONG time of what little spare time I do have to get this far.

Heres alittle update. Still have quite a bit of work left to do but, at least this gives you a better look of what it's going to look like
|
Interesting work
Interesting work you have there. Its always nice to see someone working a little bit out of the box. Overall it will still look like an EMaxx, but I look forward to seeing how your chassis holds up and how it handles for you. Keep up the good work.

Looks good, I wonder if you can take shome shots in daylight. I don't think the pictures are doing it justice.
Nice work! |
