I've not had a single fault with any of the cheap ESCs I've picked up over the years. I've blown 2 hobbywing 80a escs, one from over amping it in a speed run truck and the other taking a direct hit at a skatepark and cracking the PCB.

Yes, but when Castle was still working out the bugs they would provide excellent support and warranty almost everything, and they still have some of the best customer service in the industry. You can trade in any v1 or v2 to get a new v3 at any time.

Good luck trying to get that same level of service from HobbyWing or HobbyCity. (Not that I'm not a fan of HobbyCity, I buy lots from there, but the fact is when something goes wrong trying to deal with service and customer support is futile. Just something you need to accept when making the purchase.)

even though the MMM v1 and v2s where failure prone you still got the amazing customer service and support to back up the product. Yes downtime sucked but knowing I was getting a new esc and it wasn't gonna cost me was well worth the money. Not to mention that they really aren't that expensive to get that support
