Just FYI, BL crawlers tend to cog quite a bit more than you might be used to with regular trucks. I would plan on adding a couple more capacitors and/or using a smaller pinion.

Latest update from cc for the esc, high/max start power, normal timing and 100% drag brake. I can shear the driveshafts off my comp before it cogs, and that was with a sidewinder esc.

thats what i am useing now and im very happy with it
HH doesnt sell them anymore but you can still find the same motor made by scorpion

you dont need to use an adaptor

They are listed on his site? That sucks if he doesn't sell them anymore, can you provide a link or P/N for the scorpion version? No adapters is good!

Aslo the HH website recommends 3s lipo, which is fine I'll pick a couple of cheapies up from HobbyCity or Hobbypartz. What Mah packs are you guys running for a decent run time and still keep the size/weight down?

I will use those exact settings, Thanks Linc. Im not too worried about cogging as I'm not competing with it just having fun around the yard and at the races.

I'm actually worried about popping the stock driveshafts apart at the "U-Joints", it happened occasionally with the Rooster and 55t, I can imagine with the new setup its going to be worse. Any suggestions on a driveshaft upgrade?

MIP driveshafts are solid. My buddy uses those. Less driveshaft angle usually does more good than anything else.

I'll look into picking the MIP shafts up and hopefully that will help eliminate the driveshaft issues. Any recmmendations on what size packs to run?

3s 40c hobbyking 1050mah - 69mm long which fits alongside the servo if you use the long front servo mount

What kind of run time can I expect to get out of that pack?

Gearing and good batteries are still very important, sometime I take for granted that others will run good lipos and great correctly... Guess I should not do that, huh!!!

Yeah capacitors can only make up for so much before they become bigger than the truck they're in! Better batteries are they way to go in the long run.
