I picked up the Big Bore shocks and will set it up where it squats some. Hoping to get the chassis more level. With the weight and height of the Proline Trenchers, I am hoping that it may handle pretty good.

I switched to from the standard pink springs to the white springs (the spring the Flux and Big Bores use are the Hellfire springs) to start with due to the increased sprung weight.

Is there room between the TVPs to put the batteries? Ditching the battery boxes would be cool if you could

thzero 04.15.2010 12:33 PM

Yes. You should check out my Flux 5T conversion for what I did.

The plan is to get this thing together for the weekend. Painting the body panels tonight.

I think I have all the upgrades so time to make this thing bulletproof...

Well have a pile of parts to get on this thing...decided to start tonight...

First thing was to widen and strengthen the rear suspension. To accomplish this I am adding:

RPM Upper and Lower Arms
HPI Big Bore Alum Shocks
Integy Rear HD Hub Carriers
HPI Wide Track Conversion

rckcrwlr 04.27.2010 09:53 PM

Next was the front end...

Added an Aluminum and Bearing Steering Crank

Here is the before picture of the front Suspension

After Picture, Alum Knuckles and Uprights, Big Bores, HD Wideners and 17mm to 23mm adapters
(waiting on the 24mm's from HPI)

Now just need to get my hands on a fast, high torque servo...
(time to dig in the drawer of the unknown)

rckcrwlr 04.28.2010 07:38 PM

Found a servo laying around...

And started painting. This is a screwy body so hope it looks OK when done...

Looks good :) Interested to hear how it runs for you :)

krashkrieg 04.29.2010 11:56 PM

That thing looks incredible!

I can't help but think though, was it really cheaper to buy a new flux and convert all those things or could you just have bought the parts you didn't upgrade and build it from ground up.?

Nice job...

Yeah, I think the RC Driver cover article really boosted interest. I know that's what sealed my wallets fate.
