Yep, I am running a 4S2P. The speed is much more than I expected :027: .
I am working right now on getting the motor better mounted so not to screw up the gear mesh. I already threw one of the plastic spur teeth about 10 feet in the air. Have to order a few of those.....:eek:

Just wanted to give a big THANKS to Mike and the rest of the guys on RC Monster for all the help completing my buggy conversion. I brought it to an indoor off-road track just outside of Chicago on Tuesday night and it was fantastic. Speed was great (even with the wrong type of tire), jumping was insane and I can't tell you how many people wanted to see it and possibly try their own conversion (told them to check out RC-Monster for all the info). I had no experience with an 1/8th buggy in the past but there is a double jump at this track and the first jump is right after a sharp left hand turn. It's hard to get a lot of speed for the first jump but in the area of about 10 feet between jumps, I would accelerate, hit the second jump and it's crazy to see an 1/8th buggy six or seven feet high in the air and travel about 15 feet before hitting the ground. That was very cool!

I have tried a number of ways to mount the batteries but here is my new idea (I am going to try this tonight). I want to get a pop rivet gun and rivet two large velcro straps to the plastic rock guards on each side of the chassis. Then, just lock the batteries in by using the velcro.

I tried such a set up. You need something to keep the batteries under the straps. That was the problem I ran into.

Nice conversion! 1/8 electric is a lot of fun.

For strapping in my batteries, I think I'm leaning towards the AE battery cups and gorilla battery straps. That will hold them!
