Chad get over yourself and quit whining. He asked for opinions and I gave it, sometimes negative, sometimes positive. If you don't like it oh well. You seem to think you can offer your opinions but no one else can unless they agree with yours.

As far as your "running rampant" comment goes, are you still that heart broke I didn't like your little pen beating rap guy? Because that is obviously what this is about.

What I offered mostly was fact and that is:

1. Kyosho is known for being high priced for what they offer
2. Kyosho parts support is not very good in the US

Semi-pro obviously understood.

Is it that time of the month?...

I've seen people bashing the madforce/ twinforce, and it holds up reasonably well. The main bad points are the steering as noted ( lame plastic linkages with alot of slop ), and the plastic axle housing that snaps after some big air sometimes ( heavy landing ). Invest a bit of money and time into it and Im sure it will do alot better- such as rc4wd aluminium axle housings & on the axle steering mech. Its wide and low so should handle alright for a solid axled thing.

I saw a guy recently with a custom txt-1 which handled like truggy around an obstacle course, extended wheelbase & custom low CoG chassis does alot to improve the way an MT handles

Chad and Texas, remember this thread? http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...orum+etiquette

Might not hurt to go take a look at it again.

I know about that first hand!

When I completed the final build on my first Full-Blown Nitro Supermaxx, I took it out to break-in the new LRP Z.28R Spec-3 Big-Block Engine, and all went well for the first few minutes...after that, all hell broke loose! I was running a brand-new 2.4gHz Airtronics MX-3 FHSS Tx & Rx, as well as a Venom Fail-Safe which I know worked fine because I had been using it in the SM before it became a full-blown SM with a big-block. Anyway, after a few minutes, the truck started glitching and would just come unbound completely every now and then. After re-binding, all went well for a couple minutes, and then the glitching started again, followed by the unbinding. I thought it might be the Rx batteries or the Venom Fail-Safe, so I removed the Venom Fail-Safe & setup the MX-3's internal fail-safe, and also replaced the Orion 1600mAh Rx battery with another fully-charged Intellect (IB) 1600mAh Rx battery, but the same thing kept happening.

Well, after adjustment after adjustment, and re-binding after re-binding, I tried one last time to get it working correctly, which turned out to be a bad thing to do...as I was bringing the truck back to me to just turn it off and be done for the day, the truck just all of a sudden went full-throttle and had no throttle or steering control! It flew by me WFO, hit & jumped the curb, hit and jumped the 5-6" raised sidewalk in my neighbor's yard, and finally slammed into my neighbor's truck, landing upside down while still running WFO! I quickly got over to it and put the toe of my shoe over the end of the exhaust pipe, which finally stopped the engine!

After installing the Tx/Rx into other vehicles, and many phone calls to Airtronics, as well as a few posts on the forums, it was determined that the radio was defective. Shortly after all of this, the Airtronics FHSS 2.4gHz system was replaced by the FHSS2 system, and I have heard that it is great. As it turned out, I wasn't the only person who got a defective Airtronics MX-3 FHSS system, almost all of them were defective!

Anyway, the truck sustained a broken front Rockhoundz Skidplate, a broken front Hardcore Racing Bulkhead, a broken front lower UE Racer-X A-Arm, and a broken front UE Supershock shock shaft & rod-end.

I switched to Spektrum & Losi DSM (same as Spektrum) and haven't had a problem since!

I appreciate the straight forward criticism Texas.

I was in a "special class" in high school cause, well, I used to get into some trouble:whistle:

Anywho, the bickering reminded me of a saying that I learned there-

"Nobody can get your goat if you don't let them know where it's tied"

So everybody get goat roping!

This "new" truck from Kyosho is just them importing them again. It was the Mad Force and there was an electric version the Twin Force. I had one and just like any other monster truck it had positives and negatives.

Positive : 777 Inferno diffs and buggy shocks dropped right in/on the truck. The rest of the drive train was already pretty built proof too. The truck was super light and easy to work on.

Negative : The steering sucked, but there are companies (I think Tunder Tech) made a steering up grade that solved that. The plastic links on the original batch would flex when you jumped the truck too high and it had dog bones. Kyosho later fixed this with a drive line that attaches. And if you look around, rc4wd made billet links for these trucks.

As far as parts support, hopefully this go around with Kyosho having an American division they should do better.

I would wait though, with more people going brushless I find it hard to believe they won't bring in the electric version. And if the still package them the same, there were two versions. One with no electronics...yeah. And one that was dueced out with Carbon Fiber side plates.

I will buy one again if they will not be so hot and cold at importing them, it was a great truck.

The diffs are the same of the inferno VE diffs. They are unbreakable if correctly shimmed.
But the combo is the same too... ORION + Brushless + 1/8 scale = shit. Moreover it's limited at 4S, and the motor.... worst than a feigo.
==> We can't compare this to a savage flux.

i agree its a bad brushless system, but keep in mind it weighs alot less than a flux.

as for the steering, kyosho makes an upgrade kit for it and its cheep, amain stocks everything, when i restored mine it ended up costing me about $80 to replace most of the plastics and add afew kyosho branded upgrades.

Chadworkz 06.14.2010 02:11 AM

I am getting one (at some point), and I will be using all of the RC4WD billet parts...along with many custom carbon-fiber parts that I make for it. And most likely, by the time that I get around to building this truck, I should have my CNC machine, which I have been trying to get for over a year now...so I will be able to make some awesome parts for it, as well as m[any] other vehicles! I am almost positive that I am going to go with a Sieg Industries CNC Machine. Anyway, here are some pics of the RC4WD parts;

Semi Pro 06.14.2010 06:43 AM

there is no reason to upgrade the axel tubes unless you are just looking to add weight and bling

crazyjr 06.14.2010 06:28 PM

I am happy to see this, I have a modified twin force. I bought it off Pro mod on Ebay a few years ago, It's running a new era chassis and a center diff, not sure on diffs, but they hold a 2250 lehner on 6s easy enough. I broke the housing tube near the rear knuckle and glad to know there will be easy to find replacement parts now, I know Amain should carry most pieces

Anyways, here some pics on my toy

BTW, I wouldn't mind getting the axle housings posted above, but don't like the arms, would limit free travel of each wheel

TexasSP 06.14.2010 07:59 PM

Speaking of promod I wonder what happened to him. Sure do miss his creativity!
