the 1700 I had is at least as good as my 3680-1600 medusa racing. the medusa is good, but the losi has better features, like the massive bearings. both motors are used on 5s, plenty of torque, but I think the type of torque the losi had is kind of better. hard to describe, but it felt better.

and yes, 4-pole motors need load to perform well, otherwise performance is poor and the motor gets too hot.

go for medium timing, at least. you will experience a BIG difference in performance. believe me, I had that experience too. 4.pole motors require timing of around 15 deg.

motor got a little hot without cooling, you need a losi-heatsink.

they are great motors and under-rated, as people only buy stuff that is well known and common... like that 2200 cc neu...

Yes, these are your pictures. Very good pictures I might add. I hope you didn't mind me posting them here.

Medusa makes a very good motor and I believe their downfall was the 2 year warranty with such small bearings.

I do need some sort of heat sink, but the losi heat sink won't fit the E Revo application. Maybe if I hacked it up, but don't really wanna do that.

There needs to be more heat sinks made that fit this size motor.

I still haven't found the sweet spot for this motor. I will try again.

no worries mate. yes, the bearings of the MR are a joke, had to change the bearings twice.
I know the heatsink-problem too, so I took a fan. Like that the temperatures didn't exceed 60 deg. c, which is quite ok. I have heard that the cheapo-style heatsinks fit as well, or you can make them fit.
