Memorable
All good advice. First off you stated that we already have a Subaru and whatever. What you meant to say was that your dad has these cars. Nothing is yours until you buy it yourself. You need to start low and work your way up. Like it was stated your very own first car will be memorable no matter what it is. I grew up very poor and didn't even get my liscence until I was 21. By then I had already been in teh US Navy for 3 years. It was then in 1981 that I had saved enough and bought my first car. It was a 1979 Toyota Corolla Sport Coupe Delux. It was gold with gold wheels and white wheel wells. Since then I have had some very nice sports cars, 4X4's, pickups, motorcycles, and some minivans. You will remember your first car trust me. Being so young you need to start out with something that you can easily maintain, repair yourself, and afford on your own without any help from mom or dad. Trust me they will respect you for doing it that way. Diving a car nowa days is not cheap. Especially if you comute to and from work more than a few miles. Insurance, gas, general maintenance items, tune up parts, tires, and the occasional traffic ticket all can add up very quickly.
The point is you really do not want to be spending every single penny you make on your car. You still have to keep a young lady happy, buy clothing, and eat. All you need for a while is a Hoopty that will get you from point A to point B without being pushed. Good luck with that.
