Nice1 88!!! glad you running smoothly!!! Those hyperion lipos are awesome for punch! but just make sure they are well protected as they fail pretty easily because of bad soldering connections.... just a heads up...
My Novak pinion has lasted the longest so far. with around 15 runs... hpi last around 3 runs, RCM lasted around 9 runs, answer pinion lasted 30 seconds (my fault maybe, bad mesh) But i rate novak at the moment... |
Good to hear 88. Not surprised though. 140+ continuous amps is more than enough.
|
ya i was just worried since what i read is all i honestly know. HPI says 5000mah plus. And Jahay i use alot of padding in the boxes to keep them situated. thanks for the head sup tho. hopefully the novak lasts, ill let you know.
|
i use a robinson racing pinion and it wont die. cant count the hours of use i got on it so far
nice battery setup |
gdot... what do you run??? our savages seem to go through more pinions because we have fat asses...
i may try robinson at some point, but im very please with my novak ones... would people be interested in TI pinions if they were available? and how much would you spend on one? |
i have a db17 with 5s and ofna truggy wide offset rims/tires i got from ebay. 5s is my fav combination for it. the stock pinion lasted 5 runs, the robinson one well over a year
|
I'd pay $50 for a carbide pinion.... :mdr:
|
GDOT!!! we run the same chassis... so we both know what sort or stress the pinion goes through!!!
THATS AWESOME NEWS!!1 i will check out a robinson pinion if you have had that much success!!! 5s??? why???? the db-17 is perfect on 6s!!! what gearing do you run by the way? oh and where do you get your robinson pinions because i cant find them? Sorry bud... dont think he dabbles with carbide haha but titanium is a possibility... |
they have dealers everywhere i can think of. heres their pinion chart
http://www.robinsonracing.com/catalo...n.html#one-mod the 6s seemed to crazy for me but if i try the cd like you did then it might be nice. the 5s is perfect for my driving and where i bash it. crasy speed and long running with 20t on a 44t spur still. its stock flux parts but used the hd trans gear inside not the speed one |
thanks for the link bud!
How are you finding your temps with the stock gearing and motor on the db-17? Thanks for the link too!!! |
hah sorry to notch for using his thread
the motor goes to 130 sometimes, the rest is under 90 mostly so no problems ever. just rips everywhere |
yea sorry to thread jack...
Thanks gdot... those are decent temps! i guess the truck is lighter now considering you have lost the weight of the Lipo boxes... |
thread jacking is fine by me, savage info is all im after. lol. glad to here about a new pinion option too if i have issues. and also id be interested in a ti pinion if it passed testing. Id pay 30 max, and thats if its got some good feedback.
|
thanks for the feedback on the pinions... ill mention it.
