Got the RCM conversion today, and finished the car.
Car weighs, with RX8, 1400 KV buggy motor, DS1015 servo, and HB megabites mounted:
3502 g w/ Hyperion 6S 3300 mah lipo
3449 g w/Hyperion 6S 2950 mah lipo
3420 g w/Hyperion 2S and 3S 3300 mah lipos (roughly, dont have the adapters made to wire it as a 5S in the car.

Only bitch about the RCM stuff is that the motor mount bottom motor screw hole was huge! I think the CNC machine was just supposed to recess the outside of the hole a bit, like the top motor screw slot, but it made an 8mm hole all the way thru the mount. I used an 8x4 bearing to fill out the hole to fit a 4mm bolt and put a thick washer under the bolt head. This will work OK for now, until I can get the official Serpent parts.

Ummmm That bottom hole is supposed to be filled with the little spacer that came with the motor mount and kit. Its not a mistake. Its designed to rotate around that hole so you only need to loosen and tighten the top screw to adjust the mesh.

I'm wondering if the insert for that bottom mounting hole somehow got left out of the kit? If he had the insert it would be pretty obvious what it was for. So either he has the insert and had a major brain fart, or it probably wasn't included.

Stealth_RT 01.09.2011 04:26 PM

The spacer must have not been included, or I would have figured out what it was for.

That's what I figured. Contact Mike and I'm sure he'll take care of it.
