Get Linc to come along! Split the gas

I'm down for going. Wonder if I can scare up some other riders to chip in and provide relief driving.

At 2 bucks a gallon it is about $230 in gas... Still cheaper than a plane ticket, and I can load the car with all kinds of stuff!

128 Miles for me. dont knwo how much MPG my car gets but its a decent amount of gas money.

shitty 20mph highway... probably down to 17 with all the Rc gear and people.

7.1gal of gas each way. 15 gallons total 14 gallon tank.

2.30 a gallon= 35 bux in gas :)

Linc, we going to pick some people up along the way or what?

I'm definitely going to see about making this happen!

I just picked up 4 sets of buggy racing tires for $50 shipped, The truggy is almost ready as well. My basket of parts, chargers, and lipos, I'm ready!

Do we get an award for driving the furthest???

Any special group rates at any specific hotels are setup? Just checking before I start looking and booking.

I'm definitely down, I can't own an RC8 and not go to the track at least once. Should be interesting as it has been years since being on a track. Almost as interesting as meeting you guys and seeing your machines.

Any advice on tires for this track? I have a set of wheels that need tires, and I'd imagine my badlands wouldn't be the best choice for racing.

Finnster 05.26.2009 08:37 PM

Crimefighters and bowties are the std. on the track

brushlessboy16 05.27.2009 09:19 PM

we should have a big air contest or something as a finale

Arct1k 05.27.2009 10:09 PM

always do - i won last year ;)

I wouldn't leave the badlands home! I raced with them at the bash last year. It was a rainy, muddy mess and the badlands actually hooked up well.

Overdriven 05.28.2009 09:36 AM

Good point. I was going to bring just about everything I have anyway, I hate those "oh I should've/forgot to bring the..." moments.

brushlessboy16 05.28.2009 10:07 AM

badlands actually have more traction on hard packed dirt then i would have thought.

Finnster 05.28.2009 12:13 PM

I had badlands on that track last wkend doing some practice laps. It was hot and dry, and they did slide around alot. You could get away w/ it, but some lpr bowties or crimes would do you far better. Bring them, but don't make a special effort to get badlands for the track or anything.

I would expect the weather to be hot and dry during that time of year, not the rainy muddy mess it was last oct.

Overdriven 05.28.2009 12:53 PM

Well I already have the badlands and planned to bring them, but wanted some better racing treads. I already know I'm not a worthy driver for my RC8 FT, but it'll be more fun if I'm not struggling due to tires.

One more question: do 1/10 4wd usually get some track time? My brotherlaw plans to come either way with his dark impact, but being able to get out there would be cool. I figured he'd probably get lumped with crt.5's, which is fine cause he'll be outclassed driving wise anyway.

Arct1k 05.28.2009 01:58 PM

Likely in with crt.5

Finnster 05.28.2009 02:32 PM

I wouldn't worry too much about other drivers. Some may be really good drivers that race a lot, but typically, the majority of people there for the RCM bash are new or infrequent racers that are making it for the special event. It is called a Bash for good reason. :)
