This thread has me thinking about a high speed solution - maybe a front motor cover that offsets the motor some, for instance(could fit all our mounts this way rather than offering two versins of each mount). I will work something out. :)

Funny I was just thinking the same thing a 10 mm offset end plate

I really hope so mike, your old could do 30/40 gearing in the losi eight now problem!!! in a world where the 1717 is being given a second breath to life and companies are making pinions gears up to 34T available at any hobby shop.........feature speed guys will need these mounts!!

mount

trust me Mike, people would now kill for the old mount, now it's something we will need with all the bigger pinions available. It's now become a hot commodity, lol..Anybody want to by my old losi mount, 100 dollars used, lol.....I'm sure Mike will think of something.....

4 years later : is there a high speed motor mount for the losi 8ight-e? I want to use a 34t pinion ...

Not sure about motormounts, but Fly Ratio makes 35t spur gears. That would be a possibility to get higher gearing without larger pinions (and motormount that allows for them).
