Still have this Rustler. I ended up going 2s with a 1415-2400kv and it would rip. Ran cool as a cucumber and was pretty fast. Stepped up to 3s and it became an animal then destroyed the transmission. And so it sits...

Not too familiar with the nitro rustler trans, do they make a vxl equivalent or possibly use some of the e rustler parts to upgrade? The Castle 1415 motor is great, I just bought the latest SCT sidewinder system, mainly for the motor. Plan to run it on 3s in a 4x4 stampede.

Not sure myself... I did swap in the newer style slipper clutch. I'm sure I can get the VXL trans to work. Just need time...

Pull the trans apart and post pics. They do share some parts...

I'll try to rip it apart tonight and see. I could probably just use a whole VXL trans but we'll see.

But if you do that you will loose that amazingly machined motor bracket...
