linc said something about too small of a motor contributing to heat, as well as cheap motors. So, How about A motor considered too big? I have a lehner basic 1200 XL (1200kv) that i use in 2wd stadium trucks with between 3 and 5s lipo's, Most times it's geared for 30 mph, Strictly a bashing setup. doesn't matter what it's geared, it never goes over 120*f. I also run a quark 80 amp esc and it never gets hot either. Is it possible, running the both high quality lehner and slightly over spec'ed application is making it run less amps and allowing it to run cooler than normal? I do have a mamba max /CM36/4600 combo and it is somewhat normal to the gearing discussion here, but the lower kv, bigger lehner seems to be different in its tolerance to gearing. Would this be considered normal?

The reason i am asking, Is that i'm planning to try a 2250 lehner in a 8T truggy and think i will see similar results. What do you think?

I know this is not a castle question, Sorry but it is a motor related question. and if i didn't have the 2250, I'd be looking hard at the 1717 for this application
