Mike was also going to look at a CD conversion for the XBE...

Intent was to use a Baja diff.

I agree with the diff temps, my brushless 5ive diff gets pretty warm on 12s and the end of my drive shafts are turning blue!!

^^ Exactly what I was concerned about with such a large vehicle being hauled around with an electric motor and the inherent torque involved. All of my larger vehicles that use center diffs have this issue. To keep the diff from unloading, almost putty-like fluid is necessary. At the same time, grinding that stuff around in a diff causes incredible heat build-up.

Arct1k: I'll be curious to see what the outcome with that proposal. Stronger gears (from a baja rear diff, I presume) while more durable to withstand the stresses and heat involved, isn't exactly a solution in my opinion.

Non taken, I like to keep things stock as possible for ease of parts replacement. Plus, using a big motor you would need support for back end bell as well. If I had the machining skills, I would have done it different.

Xb-e mount and a rampage mount would be welcomed .

RC-Monster Mike 03.07.2012 11:51 AM

The Losi gets hot largely due to the angle on the shafts - same thing happens on the 1/8 buggy and truggy. The diff helps handling on a track, though.
I do plan on making a mount and CD setup for the rampage xb-e in the near future. I will likely use a 3rd rampage stock diff with a custom gear and rear shaft. The Baja diff is a possibility as well, but would require custom diff outputs and spur as well.

Mike,

Any interest in making a set up for the MCD?

RC-Monster Mike 03.07.2012 12:11 PM

I would gladly make a conversion for the MCD.

What is the best way to contact you to get this project going?

You can use my truck if you wish for a template.

RC-Monster Mike 03.07.2012 12:38 PM

Email or PM for contact. I will definately need a vehicle to convert. :)

I think this is the best motor mount ever made, i'm biased of course:lol: http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/s...a/DSC01337.jpg http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/s...a/DSC01348.jpg

looking forward to what you come up with.

bigblkblazin 03.13.2012 06:02 PM

+1^^^

Cain 03.13.2012 09:15 PM

any interest in making other parts as well?
